JUNE 23RD: Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). After making your way through customs, grab your luggage and head outside to meet your airport transfer. Check-in to the hotel, say hello to your FIT team, and after a long day of travel, time to get a good nights sleep.

JUNE 24TH: This morning enjoy a tour of Nairobi National Park, the Sheldrick Orphanage and a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum with your FIT group. Lunch is included this day. Have a bit of time to shop before returning to the hotel.

The Ark
JUNE 25TH: After breakfast, load into your transfer vehicles to head to the Aberdares. Journey along for the 3-hour ride to arrive at Aberdare Country Club for lunch before heading on a short game drive as we make our way to the famous Ark for your overnight beside the salt lick. Depending on arrival to Aberdare, there may be time before lunch for a shake out with some local runners.

JUNE 26TH: After breakfast, make our way to our Location Africa Films tented camp at the Lewa Safar Marathon. Arrive in time for lunch before checking into our camps. This afternoon, join a game drive. Depending on our arrival there may be time for a quick shakeout run.

Game Drives, Tusk Project Visits, Pre-Race Meal
JUNE 27TH: Today we will venture out on a morning game drive before we visit some of the local water, conservation, and education projects supported by Tusk and the funds through this marathon event. It is a great way to see the ways in which the fundraising dollars are invested into the community and conservation of this area. This evening, enjoy a pre-race meal at the mess hall tent with fellow runners from around the world.

JUNE 28TH: Today is the day! Time to run the 25th anniversary Lewa Safari Marathon. The course is a trail course that is hilly and promises to challenge. Spectators will go out on the course in safari vehicles to cheer runners. This evening celebrate your finish fireside under the stars on our last evening at Lewa!

Departure Day or Journey to the Masai Mara**
JUNE 29TH: For those departing, we are sad to see you go. After breakfast, get ready for your departure* to Nairobi via 4wd safari vehicle. Lunch is included as well as half-day rooms at Ole Sereni to help you prepare for your departure from Nairobi Airport**.

If you have opted to extend your stay with FIT, get ready for even more amazing! Our private flights will depart from the Lewa Airstrip today and land at the Governor's Airstrip in the Masai Mara. From here, we will be picked up by the Governor's Team to begin our 3-night safari stay along the Mara River.

FITtip: We highly recommend that you extend your travels and join us on the post-race trip to the Masai Marathon for a 3-night luxury safari trip. This is a not to miss journey and an amazing way to relax after the marathon. The Masai Mara connects to the Serengeti and is a top game viewing park.

And FIT did it again! We had a great trip with FIT in Chicago! This is the second time with the FIT team and we enjoyed every minute of it. Not only we of course loved having the guaranteed entry, but also the hotel location was sooo good, in front of where the start and finish lines were, plus we enjoyed a wonderful boat tour of Chicago and the Saturday brunch was excellent. Can't wait to see you guys again in Tokyo!!!

I really enjoyed my first Chicago Marathon experience thanks to your excellent support! Everything went smoothly without any problems. The hotel was very comfortable and couldn’t have been better — the start and finish areas were so close, which made everything completely stress-free for me. The meals at both the brunch party and the after-marathon party were delicious and well organized. This time, I didn’t join my country’s official tour because it included round-trip flights to and from Chicago, and I wanted to stay longer in Chicago and visit other cities in the U.S. The land-only tour option was perfect for me. I’m already thinking about joining one of your other marathon tours in the future!

My trip to Kenya was an adventure of a lifetime. From start to finish Kelly and her team had everything in order. This trip was one in a million and I highly recommend it. How can I even begin to describe how amazing this trip was? From the moment we landed to the moment we left, everything was absolutely perfect. Kelly had a driver waiting for us at the airport, which made the transition to our hotel seamless and relaxing. Each place we stayed—every hotel, and even our tent—was beautiful and unique. Our travel group was small and intimate, and we all got along so well—it really added to the whole experience. The game drives were unforgettable. We saw so many animals up close, and every day felt like a new adventure. The race itself was definitely challenging, but what an incredible experience! I came away feeling inspired, grateful, and in awe of it all. I highly, highly recommend this trip—truly the journey of a lifetime! Thank you Kelly!!
