About your trip

Immerse yourself in a week of mindful living, invigorating yoga, and pure relaxation by the sea.

Your seven-night retreat takes place in a serene, hidden gem – a stunning property consisting of a collection beautifully crafted stone villas, nestled in nature and built with local materials like wood, river reeds, and stone.

Just a short stroll along a peaceful riverside path leads you to a tranquil cove and a stunning beach, where calm, crystal-clear waters invite you to unwind and recharge.

About the yoga

The yoga we'll do is for all levels, and options will be given to "level-up" or "level-down". Matthew's classes are often vigorous and sweaty, and you're always welcome to slow down, rest, and take modifications. That said, in order to take full advantage, we recommend having some experience in vinyasa yoga before you arrive.

Each morning will begin with a dynamic, strength-based vinyasa flow - a well-rounded, mindful practice that will invigorate your entire body. Throughout the week, you'll deepen your physical practice of hip openers, backbends, standing poses, arm balances, and inversions, while also incorporating meditation and pranayama.

In the late afternoons, you'll have the option to participate in niche workshops, focusing on arm balances and inversions.

In the early evenings, you'll be welcomed back for a rejuvenating slow flow practice, incorporating breathwork, meditation, and yoga nidra.

About the accommodations

Our venue's accommodations are comprised of twelve stone villas.

The villas feature beautifully simple interior design with wooden beams, brushed concrete floors and natural fibers.

Each house has a luxurious feel with super comfortable beds, a relaxing lounge area and its own private patio with sun loungers. The houses also have A/C, ceiling fans and a simple kitchenette with a refrigerator and Nespresso coffee machine.

About the food

The wonderful chefs our venue will be creating daily Greek feasts for you.

Food at is prepared on the spot with fresh products from the venue's Organic Garden, local farmers and fishermen. On Special Nights our chefs, through their creations and live grills, bring glimpses of the magnificent Greek cuisine to you.

.

A myriad of delicious vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, artichokes, zucchini, eggplant, apricots, grapes, cherries, figs, yogurt, feta and goat cheese, a variety of herbs and seasonings as oregano and cilantro, fish, shellfish and chicken are some of our healthy and exquisite ingredients of our cuisine.

Olives are one of the vital components of our well being, especially turned into the golden green oil extracted from their first cold pressing.

About your host

Matthew came to yoga teaching after a fulfilling career as a professional opera singer. He was already a long-time yoga practitioner when he started teaching in 2018, and as both a student and a teacher, he found that yoga helped him to find more mental tranquility while also becoming stronger in his body. Matthew’s offerings combine the physicality and athleticism of a strong, breath-focused vinyasa flow, along with the powerful mental benefits of mindfulness and introspection. Travel to the retreat

Our destination is Andros Island, which you can reach from Athens, Greece. You can fly direct to Athens from Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and other major cities.

From Athens airport, you’ll need to take a taxi or bus (30 mins) to Rafina Port and then take the ferry, which takes around 2 hours, and costs around 30 Euro/person one way.

PLEASE NOTE: we recommend arriving in Athens the night before the retreat and staying overnight in our recommended hotel so that you can catch the morning ferry the next day and arrive at the venue before our first gathering.

From Andros port, you'll have a road journey of around 75 minutes. Our retreat location is remote and undiscovered so we will provide ferry schedules when you book and organize your transfers with one of our venue's trusted drivers.

If you will be in Greece prior to the retreat exploring other islands, we'd be happy to assist you in arranging your transfers to our venue.
