UNESCO Treasures

Collogne La Rouge

Explore the fairytale "red" 14th century town of Collonges-la-Rouge, France' very first "Plus Beaux Villages de France (Most Beautiful Villages in France). From its berry red walls and torrent of flowers to its rich heritage, Collonges-la-Rouge promises a ‘Kodak moment’ in every corner. A must-see village in the heart of the Dordogne Valley.

Free time for lunch

Visit Lascaux

Lascaux’s recent International Cave Art Center is an 8,500- sqm venue which boasts a complete facsimile of Lascaux cave and 6 sequences charting the history of the discovery of Lascaux, its importance in worldwide cave art; and its impact on contemporary art. Thanks to cutting-edge technology and outstanding scientific work, 17,000-year-old messages have been passed on to us today and humankind can recover part of a once inaccessible shared heritage.

Sleep Sarlat

The town of Sarlat is known as featuring the highest density of listed historical buildings per square foot in France! As you stroll through the paved streets of the medieval town, remember to raise your eyes to observe the architectural treasures around you. With a history dating back to the Middle Ages, Sarlat offers an exceptional setting. This City of Art and History was the first protected historical district in France to have been restored thanks to the Malraux law of 1964.

Dordogne Valley

La Roque Gageac

La Roque-Gageac is one of the most beloved sites in France, on a par with the Mont-Saint Michel and Rocamadour. With its brown roof tiles, typical rooftops, old-fashioned charm and breath-taking landscapes, La Roque-Gageac is a village that invites you to daydream… As you take in the 14th-century church of La Roque-Gageac, observe its typical bell wall and its roof in Périgord-style thackstone.

Les Jardins de Marqueyssac

Listed as a National Historical Monument, surrounding a stone-tiled château from the early 19th Century, the romantic and picturesque Marqueyssac Gardens offer over 6km of pathways surrounded by over 150 000 hand-pruned boxwoods, with viewpoints, rockeries and stone cabins. Situated on a rocky spur, the viewpoint offers one of the most impressive panoramic views of the valley and it’s many châteaux. Today it is the most visited garden in the South-West of France.
