Our first stop will be the seaside city and capital of the region, Trieste. We will be spending the majority of our day exploring this Austro-Italian city, with its many wonders like it's Piazza, Cathedral, Medieval old city, Neoclassical Austrian quarter, and the Miramare castle. We will return to the city to eat dinner and spend the night however you want it.

Our first stop will be Udine. Here we will be able to see it's castle, which is home to works by Caravaggio. The city has a beautiful renaissance piazza, and a stunning baroque cathedral. Our next stop will be Cividale del Friuli, an old city that sits upon a beautiful bridge. 

We'll be starting our day by taking the ferry down the coast to the Slovenian town of Piran. Piran was formerly controlled throughout its history by Venice, so there is a large resemblance to Italy in its architecture and its cuisine. We will spend half of our day here and then head back to Trieste in the evening. 

First stop will be to Grado, a smaller town built much like Venice, and after that we will travel to the ancient Roman site of Aquileia. We will return to Trieste reasonably early and spend the remainder of the night there. 

Our first stop will be in Tarvisio, on the border with Austria. This small town sits perfectly on top of a mountain with incredible views, and a popular lake. Afterwards, we will cross the border into Austria and visit the city of Villach, a city surrounded by lakes and mountains with a beautiful piazza and spas. 

This last day of our journey will be spent passing through Pordenone, a small city in the region with lots of history and also the medieval village of Sesto al Réghena.

We will head out Venice reasonably early to ensure everyone has enough time before their scheduled flight.
