About this trip

The tour from Isla Blanca to Sian Ka'an is one of the most popular in the world, since it covers the entire Mayan Riviera. One of the destinations with the most intact nature is Sian Ka'an, since it is a reserve where animals live in a wild way. An intact piece of Nature, where man has stayed away.

You can also visit places like Tulum, Playa del Carmen and many other theme parks, where you will be dazzled by their beauty.

About Transportation

Our tour includes Cancun airport transportation, so you won't have to worry about anything else but enjoying all the beautiful scenery, as well as the relaxing beaches of the Riviera Maya.

Our transportation will pick you up at your hotel, airport or wherever you are, to take you to the best tour of the Riviera Maya.

This tour has everything except visits to the islands near these destinations, if you want a trip to the islands of the Riviera Maya the price is higher than the one published here.

What place to visit?

Of all the destinations in Latin America, the Riviera Maya is one of the most visited, a dream destination for its beaches, parks, great hotels, natural reserves, Mayan archaeological sites and more. The amount of places to visit during a trip to this destination is huge, so today I will talk to you about the 10 must-see places to visit.

1. Chichen Itza

Without a doubt this archaeological site is the main icon of the Riviera Maya. Recognized as one of the 7 wonders of the modern world, Chichen Itza is impressive: from the Mayan pyramid itself known as "El Castillo", to the Ball Game and the Great Cenote nearby. To visit it I recommend you to go on your own and first thing in the morning, since when there are many tours in the site it is difficult to appreciate the place with tranquility.

2. Cancun Hotel Zone

No trip to the Riviera Maya is complete without visiting the city of Cancun, and the best place to do so is in the Hotel Zone. In this sector, as its name indicates, you can find most of the hotels in Cancun, but not only that, but along this strip of land (it is like an islet with the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Nichupte Lagoon on the other) you can find spectacular beaches (Playa Delfines, Playa Tortugas, etc) as well as the big clubs and shopping malls of the city. In my blog you can read miguía de turismo en Cancún where I tell you more about how to enjoy this city.

3. Playa del Carmen

If you travel to the Riviera Maya, you will most likely stay either in Cancun or Playa del Carmen where the best hotels are located and there are plenty of options to eat, go out and enjoy. In Playa del Carmen the prices are a little bit cheaper and it has spectacular beaches where you can practice activities like diving and snorkeling. In addition, its 5th Avenue is an ideal place to walk, have a coffee and go shopping.

4. Xcaret

The largest theme park in all of Mexico is Xcaret and it is a must-see destination during any trip to the Riviera Maya. Located near Playa del Carmen, Xcaret was recognized in 2016 as "the best theme park in the world" due to the more than 50 attractions it offers, ranging from sailing in subway rivers, traveling through the jungle, swimming with dolphins and observing the Mexican Mayan culture in the museums and chapels built in the park. You can't miss the show "Xcaret de noche" with more than 300 artists on stage.

5. Isla Mujeres

This island is located very close to the city of Cancun and to get there you have to catch some ferries that leave from Playa Tortuga. Its beaches are some of the most beautiful in the Riviera Maya and its peaceful atmosphere attracts many visitors, either to simply relax or to do activities such as sailing on catamarans and water sports. The most beautiful site that I recommend you to visit in Isla Mujeres is Playa Norte, a beach with crystalline and calm waters.

6. Cenotes

Cenotes are natural structures similar to wells, but with impressive external and underwater rock formations. Along the Riviera Maya and Yucatan there are more than 7000 cenotes to visit and depending on the type, they can be enjoyed walking, swimming or even diving to great depths as in the case of the Cenote Azul. If you wish to visit several of them in one day, there is the Cenote Route that departs from Puerto Morelos.

7. Tulum

This place is incredible, because it combines the beauty of the Caribbean Sea and its turquoise blue tones with another of the Mayan's architectural works, which in spite of being built between 1,200 and 1,500 B.C. remains standing. Meet Tulum Ruins with our shuttle, and especially "El Castillo" are located a few meters from the beach, so visiting it is a spectacle to take the best pictures, and in the same day it is possible to first visit this place and then take a good rest on the beaches of Tulum.

8. Cozumel

This island, the third largest in Mexico, is ideal for those seeking contact with nature and tranquility. Cozumel has it all for diving in the Riviera Maya: national parks like Palancar and Chankanaab, coral reefs and lots of marine life. You can also hire tours to observe crocodiles and birds in their habitat. You can easily reach it by ferry from Playa del Carmen or by plane from other locations in Mexico.

9. Coba

These are other Mayan ruins less known than Chichen Itza but worth visiting, are a little hidden because they are located within a small "jungle", but has the particularity that the main pyramid of Coba can be climbed on foot and the views from the top are impressive, after that you can go to anywhere.
