Why choose between Lucca and Pisa when you can experience them both in one incredible day? This e-bike tour is the perfect blend of history, nature, and adventure, taking you on a scenic ride between two of Tuscany’s most famous cities. From the majestic walls of Lucca to the legendary Leaning Tower of Pisa, you’ll uncover stunning landscapes, ancient aqueducts, and centuries of history along the way.
The tour begins in Lucca, right in front of the train station, where we hop on our e-bikes and cycle along the famous Renaissance walls that encircle the city. These 4.2 km-long fortifications, built between the 16th and 17th centuries, now serve as an elevated park offering spectacular views over Lucca’s historic center, dotted with medieval towers and elegant piazzas.
Leaving Lucca, we take a picturesque bike path along the Serchio River, a safe and peaceful route that makes up the first half of our journey. As we get closer to Pisa, we transition onto quiet countryside roads, eventually reaching one of the most fascinating historic landmarks of the region—the Antico Acquedotto Mediceo. Built in 1613 under Grand Duke Cosimo II de’ Medici, this remarkable aqueduct with its 934 arches once transported water from the slopes of Monte Pisano to the heart of Pisa.
Upon arriving in Pisa, we’ll park our bikes in a secure area and take a short walk up to the ancient city walls, where a breathtaking, panoramic view of Piazza dei Miracoli awaits. The sight of the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery from above is an unforgettable experience!
After this spectacular viewpoint, you’ll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore Pisa at your own pace. We’ll provide recommendations on what to see, where to go, and the best spots for a light Tuscan lunch.
To complete our round-trip adventure, we will take the train back to Lucca, bringing a perfect close to a day filled with discovery and stunning scenery.
