Matzoh to Mean Girls Virtual Tour
Broadway shows are not playing but that doesn’t mean we can’t EXPERIENCE Broadway! This NEW program, from Broadway Up Close, brings Broadway right into the comfort of your home!
From the tables of the vanished Cafe Edison to the halls of the old Mark Hellinger Theatre, your Green Team Guide will take you on a virtual journey of the northern blocks of the theatre district from 47th Street to 53rd Street. We’ll journey back to the 1920s when Broadway theaters began rising out of the ashes, most built by one architect with an awkward last name, Herbert J. Krapp. With stories emanating from a Tony Award-winning watering hole to tales of a gigantic monkey named King Kong, guests will be taken on a colorful journey through Broadway’s past. And with rarely seen photos, we promise this tour will keep the flame of Broadway burning until you can visit these historic theaters in person once again.
Theaters on this tour include: Hotel Edison, Brooks Atkinson, Longacre, Walter Kerr, Ambassador, Eugene O’Neill, Circle In The Square, Mark Hellinger, August Wilson, Broadway
