Our stay at the Corcovado Adventure Tent Camp was great, even though the bathrooms are not in great shape. But the Camp as such is lovely, beautiful position, good restaurant (the dinner we had was actually delicious!!) and very nice staff (Gabriel is a really lovely and very friendly young man - working non-stopp in the reception and kitchen etc.).
However, we had booked a day trip to Corcovado National Park, and that was rather disappointing. The boat taking us to Serena was going so fast, that the ride was not enjoyable anymore. Arriving at Serena, there are SO many others arriving at the same time and so many guided groups walking through the small part of the park which is accessable, that it felt crowded. Whenever we saw a bird or animal there are immediately 50 others waiting to see the same creature... Some guides are very loud and we felt it no surprise that we did not see anything special (apart from a sleeping Tapir), because there were just too many people. I have no idea, how it must be in high season...???
Lunch was good and well organized, but again, we felt it became a mass processing. We were asked to rush to be in time for lunch and back to the boat, making it impossible taking photos and just taking our time. Since it had been out last stop and guided tour in Costa Rica, after three weeks traveling through the country, we didn't expect such crowds in the most South Eastern part of the country.
Lastly I strongly feel visitors should be better prepared and informed about the rather tricky way of having to walk back to the boat. The underground is terribly stony and rubber shoes/sandals are essential.
