05H00 AM: Coca city will be our meeting point where we will begin our journey. After embarking on the canoe, we will navigate for about an hour and 20 minutes along the Napo River to the spectacular blackwater flooded ecosystem in the town of Taracoa. Being located within the Yasuní Biosphere Reserve, we will have the opportunity to connect with the Amazon rainforest in its full splendor. First, we will walk along a steel scaffolding path for approximately 40 minutes, enjoying the unique flora and fauna. At the end of the path, we will board a paddle canoe to explore the lush blackwater lagoon. This lagoon is home to caimans, piranhas, anacondas, and colorful birds that will delight us with their songs. We will also take a hike through the jungle to observe different species of primates.
11:00 AM: We will navigate the Napo River for about 40 minutes to our next destination, the Kichua Cultural Center community.
12:00 PM: After disembarking from our canoe, we will receive a traditional welcome with drum rituals and ancestral chants. This warm reception is an essential part of getting familiar with the Kichua people. The welcoming ritual will immerse you intimately in the life and essence of the Kichua culture. In the center, we will share ancestral stories and legends, ancestral knowledge, and the medicinal use of sacred plants. You will also get to experience ancestral meals with tastings of beverages and gastronomy.
3:00 PM: After lunch, we will return to Coca city, where we will conclude our activities.
