About this trip

This is a 5-day experience in the San Juan Islands. This is truly an idyllic part of the Pacific Northwest of Washington. The trip will blend sea kayaking, yoga, and mindfulness, as well as backcountry camping to awaken your mind, body, and spirit.

You are not required to have any experience in kayaking, yoga, mindfulness, or camping to be part of this experience.  We only ask that you have a desire to welcome in nature, explore, unwind, and take care of your bodies with other like-minded individuals.

The Paddling

San Juans is a popular destination. We paddle in our sea kayaks to escape the hustle and bustle of the world. We will paddle between 3 - 7 miles each day to a new island. We will find stillness and intimacy in the breathtaking beauty of the natural coves of the water and land.

Our boats will have everything we need to be comfortable and safe for the 4 nights on the water.

Boats, paddling gear, safety equipment and qualified paddling guides will all be included in this experience.

The Yoga - all levels

Yoga is more than making poses with your body. We welcome all levels to this trip. The program will incorporate mindfulness practice, breathing techniques, gratitude, and more. You will always have the opportunity to opt-in or out of group activities.

Consider all the different ways movement and mindfulness can benefit your body. We encourage everyone to be willing to leave expectations at the door and give into the flow of the adventure.

The Camping

This trip is camping for 4 nights, 5 days. We will stay in State Parks on the islands. The campsites will have fire pits, picnic tables, and tent areas. We will provide your camping gear (tent, pad, bag, pillow).

We will provide you with a clothing list to make sure are packing the appropriate layers needed for this adventure.

Our guides will help you learn how to take care of yourself in the backcountry and teach you all the tips and tricks to feel comfortable. The guides will take care of all the meals and kitchen duties so you can spend time soaking in the beauty around you.

Our teen joined Breakwater this summer and had a wonderful experience. Not only was he able to get away from technology in a beautiful setting but made friends and gained self-confidence. The guides were highly competent, fun and kind. His trip was highly rewarding. We hope to join future trips.
