Sierra Negra volcano. 

Today´s the adventure involves a long walk whose reward is a landscape that will leave us breathless and without words to describe it. 

A bus will take us to the foothills of the SIERRA NEGRA VOLCANO We start an ascending walk (5km) towards the crater of the volcano  we will be at the very edge of one of the largest calderas on the planet.  10 by 7 km 

We then continue the excursion with a descending walk of 3km to reach Volcán Chico: In this place, we are going to admire an overwhelming landscape: On  one hand we are between lava rivers, on the other from a high view-point, we can see looking north : Elizabeth Bay, Alcedo Volcano, Darwin Volcano and Ecuador Volcano and a little to the west Fernandina Island with its homonymous volcano. 

At the volcan Chico site we will see fumaroles and sulfur flows. 

Afternoon free time to  spend at  the beach and rent a kayak or Stand-up  paddle board.

A.M. EXCURSION:

Early in the morning we prepare for the first excursion in ISLET TINTORERAS, a fabulous walk between the lava flows, they allow us to learn the difference between A-A lava  and PAHOIHOI lava.

 Blue-footed Boobies, Penguins,Pelicans, marine iguanas, sea-lions, lava lizards are some the incredible inhabitants of this islet.

We´ll walk through beaches of different colors until we reach some crevasses where sea lions and sharks share the space. Our adventure continues with an awesome snorkeling session. Our swimming partners are often Penguins, Sea-Lions, Sea Turtles and Sharks

P.M. EXCURSION:

In the afternoon a ten miles bicycle ride; 

A ride towards the historical site of a penal colony known as El Muro de las Lágrimas “The Wall Of Tears”.

The adventure is not only the actual penal colony remains, on our way we will enjoy several beaches, will learn about the formation of the “LAVA TUNNELS” and lava flows this is particularly relevant when we consider the adventure planned for the next day:THE TUNNELS OF ISABELA.

There´s a visit to an estuary where we will bathe on turquoise waters where rain water coming from the highlands  meet the ocean water all in a magical environment where we´re surrounded by very tall red-mangroves.

A high view-point is also visited on this excursion from which we can really appreciate the volcanic origins of this islands. From this very point we will see two of the five volcanoes that form this island and several volcanic cones, craters and hills.

A.M. EXCURSION

We´re visiting THE TUNNELS of Isabela  a gigantinc lava flow from Sierra Negra Volcano reached the ocean many  thousands of years ago, the result is now an area where the lava tubes and flows have been partially destroyed by the erosion of the ocean;  Creating underwater  tunnels and caves, these incredible lava formations are an awesome place for shallow water snorkeling through underwater tunnels where we will rejoice in the company of Sharks, penguins, turtles and abundant tropical fish.

We will also be looking for the elusive and rather hard to find seahorses

Truly one of the best  snorkeling places in the whole archipelago .

AFTERNOON  FAST BOAT TRANSFER TO  SANTA CRUZ ISLAND.

Upon Arrival we will check-in on our hotel  and visit Playa de los alemanes for a peaceful sunset by the shore where quite often  we´re in the company of playful and friendly  birds that  approach humans to unbelieveable closeness.

One outstanding FULL DAY excursion on a yacht to an uninhabited island.

NORTH SEYMOUR,

We will enjoy a morning with a plethora of birds, depending on the time of our visit we will see the courtship rituals during mating season, or the nesting season, it does not really matter, there will be always a show for us.

 BLUE FOOTED BOOBIES, FRIGATE BIRDS, LAVA HERONS, NIGHT GULLS, plus LAND IGUANAS, MARINE IGUANAS, SEA-LIONS will we seen as we walk around this small and yet magical excursion.

The fun does not end there!

We will cruise towards ISLOTE MOSQUERA and there we will enjoy a snorkeling session with sea-lions and enjoy a little time at this gorgeous white sand beach. Before returning back to our yacht for lunch and then return home to Santa Cruz. .

Night:

We will  have an opportunity to  enjoy a delicious dinner  in one of the many  reaturants by the sea on Puerto Ayora.

 Upon arrival  we check-in in our hotel and then start  today´s adventures, we´d  visit LA LOBERÍA a bay  where sea-lions rest  and we will have an apportunity to  snerkle with sea-turtles, a short walk  through the lava flow will take us to "LAS MORENITAS" a high cliff with an extarordinary opportunity for photography  of both the landscape, marine iguanas and birds. 

After  this magnificent excursion we´ll return  to  town  and after lunch  we´ll  visit  MIRADOR TIJERETAS:  a high view-point from  which  we can  see  neighbor islands and then a down slope walk to a snorkeling session at  DARWIN BAY the very  first  place  where  Charles Darwin set  foot  in the archipelago.  then  we´ll  end the day  at  PUNTA CAROLA for sunset. 

A splendid  beach where we´re going  to be surrounded by  playful  sea-lions  as we enjoy  the glorious sunset.

NAVIGABLE TOUR 360* This excursion will take us on a journey around San Cristóbal Island, making a 360-degree turn around the island. With visits to three sites and an experiential fishing. BAHÍA ROSA BLANCA A white sand beach welcomes us after a short walk through a lava flow, to carry out a snorkeling session in which we will enjoy the company of tropical fish, tiger rays, green turtles, white tip reef sharks.  Then we will have some relaxing time on the white sand beach.

We continue our trip to do experiential fishing in PUNTA PITT, the easternmost point of the archipelago (that is, the closest point to continental Ecuador). An impressive panorama with vertiginous reefs, while our boat turns until we get fruits from the sea.

With the fruit of the fishing we delight ourselves with a ceviche or a sashimi. Our trip continues to CERRO BRUJO, a place where we will take some fantastic photos while admiring the landscape.

Place from which we will also take magnificent images of what will 

be our last view; KICKER ROCK

Last visit of the day, it is indeed a 140-meter-high colossus that rises a short distance from the coast and will be the site where we will carry out our last snorkeling session. Site where it is possible to find sea lions, mantas, and on lucky days even hammerhead sharks.

On this day if we wake up  early in the morning  and depending on our flight´s itinerary. We´ll have a final  stroll around town.

Then  a transfer to the airport located only 5 minutes from town.
