Spending nights on dry land
This excursion was carefully created by me to suit all skill levels from beginners, enthusiasts to semi pro level divers.
Diving on exceptional sites and spending the nights on dry land to enjoy both the wonders of galapgos underwater as well as the sunsets, beach time and night life on the islands.
The penultimate day will be a snorkeling and naturalist trip to allow total decompression.
Included in this description we have an immersion on GRODON ROCKS a place known as "often called "The Washing Machine" due to the strong currents, which require a certain level of expertise.
If some of the group´s members don´t have the level of expertise, we have several sites to choose from to replace that dive.
Guayaquil-Galapagos-Guayaquil (or Quito) ticktes are included
There will be several transfers between islands needed. All of those are included here
Hotel in double accomodation (matrimonial or two beds) in Superior tourist class hotels.
Although some divers prefer to use some of their personal equipment. All equipment required is available
Breakfast at the hotels, lunch during the excursions
We choose to give this free time to the participants to enjoy their group´s company with our expert suggestions
Upon booking the participants will be informed about the details and procedures to acquire permits and do payments which add to U.S. $200
After a 100 minutes flight to the archipelago, we arrive in Baltra (an island located north fo Santa Cruz) which serves only as airport.
We will trasnfer south to the island of Santa Cruz as we do the necessary crossing of this island we will have a fascinating excursion: A visit to the Giant Tortoises sanctuary in which we will get acquainted with these fascinating creatures, following we will visit a lava tube where we learn about the volcanic origin of this island.
Then we continue our trip across the island to the southernmost point: Puerto Ayora, where we will embark on a fast boat to enjoy the two hours trip to Isabela.
Arriving at 5:00pm plenty of time to check in on our hotel and then go to the beach and enjoy our first sunset in Galapagos.
ISLA TORTUGA will be our inaugural diving site,
This crater is located outh of Isabela island; This was a perfectly round crater and amny thousands of years ago the south side of it collapsed forming now a crescent moon shape island.
The fauna that we regurarly find while diving in the galapagos islands: Hammerhead sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, green turtles sealions, Blaxk tip sharks, White tip reef sharks, and a plethora of tropical fish
Diving Isabela is a different experience from diving Santa Cruz or San Cristobal islands. Isabela is the ‘far west’ of the archipelago in every sense of the word. The islets south of Puerto Villamil are at the crossroads of two major currents, meeting each other head on. The South Equatorial Current (also known as the Humboldt Current) moves from east to west during the dry season, with the help of the southeast trade winds, which blow from May to December. These cool waters have mean temperatures ranging from 18°C to 22°C.
Diving and Snorkeling: This is the main activity. You can spot hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, rays, and various species of reef fish. Wildlife: Birdwatching, including blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, frigatebirds, and other tropical birds. Attractions: Exploration of sea caves, including a remarkable cave both above and below the water.
Today´s excrusion is divided between two sites.
The south coast of N. Seymour island. and then Daphne island
We´re looking to decompress, so we´re going on an astonishing snorkeling trip .
Enderby rock, Located right next to Floreana island.
This trip will have two snorkeling sessions and then a naturalist excursion to
Cormorant Point which is on the northern tip of Floreana and you'll land on a beach that sits between two volcanic cones. The sand on one of the beaches here has a noticeably olive-green color. This is due to a much higher than usual concentration of olivine crystals in the sand. Another beach is made up mainly of coral sand and is almost a brilliant white in comparison.
This Galápagos site has a large lagoon which is favored by flamingos , their pink coloring contrasting with the green sand. There is some good snorkeling here, and you can often spot rays in the shallows. There is a one mile hike available that takes you to higher ground and provides great views over the lagoon, and to both beaches on either side of the Point.
Our last day will begin early with a stroll around town to the Charles Darwin Research Station. Where we will learn all about the conservation efforts. And probably buy a souvenir. Before starting the transfers towards the airport
