PM: The Twins + Giant turtle + Lava tunnels – Hotel

Teeming wildlife and greenest will be found in Santa Cruz Island highland, your first spot is at Los Gemelos – or “The Twins” in English – which are often mistaken for volcanic craters, those are actually sinkholes. When the volcanoes on the islands were still active, lava flows would roll down the hills to get to the sea. So, the lava run at different speeds under the ground for several days becoming big lava tunnels and magma chambers. The outer lava cools faster than the middle and starts to dry, allowing for the formation of lava walls that enclose the hotter lava within. These geological formations remain underground for thousands of years until their roofs collapse due to erosion, which is the case with Los Gemelos. Then, you will wonder visiting a reserve where it is possible a healthy short trail surrounded by the endemic tropical forest and they can observe closely exotic giant turtles on natural state, also our guests will take a trip under the lava tunnels always assisted by our experimented tour guide. Get ready to see amazing fish, turtles, sharks in this deep water snorkelling. One of the most amazing fish I have seen and I was nervous at start but very soon the guide made me feel comfortable and I was snorkeling on my own. Two great snorkeling opportunities. We saw blue footed boobies. Delightful. The boat ride is rough but worth it. Again Galapagos path and Jorge was so good to deal with. He arranged a pick up and drop from our hotel, was so helpful with our every need. I will be recommending Galapagos path to all my friends and family.

An amazing day out to the island. I will give Galapagos path all the credit. They took care of every detail. Jorge was fantastic and it was my first time snorkeling and it was a good introduction to it. Jorge set us up with wet suits etc. pick up and drop to our hotel etc. the boat was beautiful.

Highly recommend planning your activities in Galapagos with Jorge. He is well informed, kind, generous, and what he says comes true. Any activity he booked for me, was happening on time, as expected and described. He even reminded me daily of my upcoming commitments.
