We leave Dublin today and go North. Our first stop is Castle Ward.  This is the castle that was called  Winterfell Castle in the game of Thrones, with its sprawling medieval walls and imposing tower gate. 

We then visit the Dark Hedges, which is shown as the King's Road where Arya Stark escaped from King' landing disguised as a boy. this beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the 18th century.

We then go to the top of Ireland to the Giants Causeway. This is one of the wonders of the world and it is so because it has 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. It was declared a World Heritage site in 1986.

Today we bring you to this breath-taking place. We split up into two groups. Those who have joined S.I.T. for the first time will travel up to the cliffs by bus and get to look down on the cliffs and take the spectacular cliff walk and those that have come with us before will see the cliffs while looking up from a boat out on the Atlantic ocean.  We then make our way down to Sligo to our accommodation.

We go West today and visit some iconic houses. Our first stop is the beautiful Westport House and Gardens. This house is set on the Wild Atlantic Way and dates back to the 15th century. It was known locally as the "big house". The gardens are special and you will find it hard to leave.

We then go further into the West to visit an amazing Abbey, which was once a home. It has a beautiful walled garden and is nestled beside a beautiful lake. The drive there is breath-taking and you will feel like you walked back in time.

We visit the amazing passage tombs and megalithic cemetery in Sligo. These burial grounds pre-date the pyramids by 500/800 years. There is also a stone circle near the site that you can explore too. We take a scenic drive around the coast to see the ocean and then we get back to the hotel. We take the afternoon off and anyone who wants to get a reading from Patti can book one with her.

We go to Galway to visit a very special person and his magical, sacred  Farm. Pat Noone is a healer, an owner of a farm that is rich in ancient history with standing stones, Cairns, fairy fort and  Fairy tree. 

It is a working farm but so much more and he will tell you all about it when we visit. We will also experience his dogs working with his sheep. We might even get a cup of tea and some homemade brown soda bread with butter and jam.

We have a choice for you today, we will visit the 13th century Parkes Castle on the shores of Lough Gill on the border of Sligo/Leitrim counties. This is a Castle rich in history and sits on the shores of a beautiful Lough Gill. The drive there has amazing scenery. We will take a boat ride on Lough Gill where we will see the famous "isle of Innisfree" and other islands too! Then we will take a scenic drive around this lake and we end up at Tobernault Holy well. This is a very special place to visit where you will see how the Irish mixed paganism and Christianity. I will tell you about the history of this place and why it is special to the Irish. 

Or you can choose to go to the Festival of Fire on the Hill of Uisneach.

We leave the hotel in the afternoon and take a drive to the sacred Hill of Uisneach. There we will be part of celebrating Bealtaine with the Festival of Fire. The Hill of Uisneach is an ancient ceremonial site. It consists of numerous monuments and earthworks—prehistoric and medieval —including a probable megalithic tombs and burial mounds, enclosures, standing stones, holy wells and a medieval road. Uisneach is near the geographical centre of Ireland and in Irish mytholoogy, it is deemed to be the symbolic and sacred centre of the island It was said to be the burial place of the mythical  Tuatha Dé Dannan, and a place of assembly associated with the druids and the festival of Bealtaine.  The festival starts at 5pm and goes on until about 11, so you can decide if you want to be there that long or not.

We leave Sligo today and return to Dublin but on the way we visit a 12th century Cisterian Abbey in a small town of Boyle in Co Roscommon. This is a place of rich history and the guide there will tell you all the history and point out special things about the building.

We then make our way to the Hill of Tara. This is an ancient ceremonial burial site, and according to tradition, it was the inauguration place and seat of the High Kings of Ireland.  It also holds a very special place in Irish mythology.

We spend our last night in this amazing castle. Clontarf Castle dates back to 1837 and is famously known for the battle of Clontarf in 1014. It is a luxury 4 star hotel with all the old workd charm of a castle but all the modern conveniences of a 4 star hotel.

We return you to the airport to catch your flight home today. We won't say goodbye but rather, "Safe flight and come back soon, we will be waiting for you to return to Ireland with us".
