Garganta do Céu is located on the southern face of Pedra da Gávea. Its rock formation creates a stunning natural frame and a viewpoint from which you can admire a unique angle of São Conrado Beach and the Two Brothers Hill.
The hike to Garganta do Céu starts at the same trailhead as the traditional Pedra da Gávea route. Although slightly shorter, this trail is considered more difficult due to its steeper ascent and high demand for navigation. The forest is dense and closed in, and we’ll climb over several steep natural obstacles until we reach Garganta do Céu — a cave with one of the most breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro.
After a moment of rest, contemplation, and photos, we’ll begin the descent via the same trail through the Atlantic Forest of Tijuca National Park.
