The Seychelles offer so many beautiful islands to explore, that a cruise around the archipelago is a real must. The Gay Male Cruise that SeyGay Holidays organizes in February and in August 2018 is definitely the best way to experience all the highlights, and you will be with like-minded people whilst receiving top quality services on board. The tour includes Mahé Island, the Vallée de Mai nature reserve on Praslin, the boulder formations at La Digue, and many more.
Well-travelled cruisers seeking an innovative, adventurous but intimate and exclusive type of voyage in touch with a pristine nature will love this unique experience in The Seychelles, because heaven is gay.
Our local Partner Silhouette Cruises offers an open-minded, thoughtful, and intelligent cruise experience. If you’re looking for a party cruise, it might not be your cruise, but if you want a fairly quiet onboard experience catering to sophisticated travelers, you will feel more then welcome here.
Service on board is what sets this cruise apart from most small-ship cruises. With a mostly Seychellois crew attending to our guests, traditional Creole cuisine prepared daily and a relaxed, casual atmosphere on board, Silhouette Cruises has created a special brand of hospitality that is natural, authentic and true to the Seychelles.
Clichéd or not, the Seychelles are about as close to paradise as you can get: once you’ve felt the sand between your toes here, beach holidays will never be the same again.
Made up of 115 topical islands in all, the Seychelles archipelago is a destination where white, sandy beaches are as pure as the driven snow; where frothy turquoise waters harbor colorful coral reefs and bountiful marine life; where secret coves allow you to have your very own Robinson Crusoe moment with only birds and tortoises for company.
Mahé may be the biggest – and the busiest – of the islands, but it has its fair share of secluded bays, which are accessible only by yacht, motorboat or on foot. Together with its sisters Praslin and La Digue, it attracts the lion’s share of tourists.
More adventurous travelers, on the other hand, may prefer to take a flying boat to more remote islands such as Fregate or Bird Island and enjoy secluded beaches all to themselves. These islands are especially popular with birdwatchers and nature lovers, due to their abundance of wildlife.
The absence of people on many of the islands means that rare plant life has thrived on this Indian Ocean archipelago. Tropical life abounds below the waves, too. This is best viewed by going scuba diving or snorkeling, experiences which are made all the more memorable here thanks to the crystalline seas.
It’s not all about nature, though. The Seychelles are a veritable melting pot of cultures: its inhabitants descend from African, Asian and European immigrants, who have brought their customs and traditions with them to the islands. This heady mix is particularly pleasing on the palate thanks to the archipelago's fabulous fusion food
The Sea Star and Sea Bird are modern custom-built yachts that combine space, comfort and authentic hospitality-at-sea for weekly live-aboard cruises and private charters around the inner Seychelles islands. The 40m Sea Star is a custom-built yacht with three masts and five Bermuda sails. The Sea Bird is a two-masted 42m custom-built yacht with four Bermuda sails.
Both vessels serve as ideal platforms for discovering the islands’ most exclusive and hard-to-reach places, from tiny granite islets to beautiful hidden coves.
Sea Star and Sea Bird each boast 9 spacious air-conditioned guest cabins, all between 9-11 square metres.
Each cabin features an ensuite bathroom, as well as reading lights, storage cupboard and power connections for charging computers and cameras or using other electronic devices such as hair-dryers. Cabins are cleaned daily by our crew.
A number of different areas onboard, from the two-tiered sundeck toward the bow, to the covered back deck and leisure area, ensure ample space for passengers to unwind.
Cruise Service Concept
Service on board is what sets us apart from most small-ship cruises. With a mostly Seychellois
crew attending to Silhouette Cruises guests, traditional Creole cuisine prepared daily and a relaxed, casual atmosphere on board, They’ve created a special brand of hospitality that is natural, authentic and true to the Seychelles.
Sea Star & Sea Bird are each hosted by a crew of 8/9, to ensure the crew-to-guest ratio is always at least 1-to-2, even at maximum occupancy. The crew includes a captain, engineer, 2 deckhands, 3 stewardesses, a dive instructor and a dedicated chef.
Chefs use fresh local ingredients to create an enticing blend of authentic Creole cuisine and
international favourites. Each chef plans out their own menus for every cruise week, encouraging diverse and creative creations for every meal.
Breakfast features fresh fruit along with one of the chef’s preparations, such as eggs or crepes, with toast, juice and tea/coffee. Buffets for lunch and dinner provide a culinary tour of the archipelago and its wide-ranging influences from Europe, Africa, South Asia and the Far East.
Dinners may also be served as a three-course meal with starter, main course and dessert.
Meals can be enjoyed in the air-conditioned dining salon, or al fresco on the back deck’s
dining table, or even picnic-style on the sun deck
Bar Service
Stewardesses on board are always at the ready to serve drinks from our bar, be it for an afternoon refreshment, an aperitif at sunset or a glass of wine with dinner. However, in order to create an atmosphere in which guests can feel at home on board, Silhouette Cruises also allow self-service at our bar - guests are welcome to help themselves to drinks from the refrigerator at the bar by simply marking down their selections to be added to their bill.
Sailing
Sea Star and Sea Bird each boast modern furling systems, a powerful rig and large sailing area. Guests are welcome to assist the crew when sailing between islands.
