Join SHE Ventures to visit Canada’s smallest national park, Georgian Bay Islands. This park may be small, but it is home to more snakes, salamanders, turtles, and frogs than any other national park in Canada. We will take a quick boat ride to Beausoleil Island where we will camp overnight at Honeymoon Bay. Beausoleil Island supports 33 species of reptiles and amphibians, including 11 of the 17 snake species in Ontario. We will spend the Friday evening learning how to set up camp, properly store food, and filter water. Yoga instructor Maegen Guse will lead the group through a 60 min gentle flow practice and 15 min guided meditation.
Saturday, we will hike ~16.5 km from Honeymoon Bay to Cedar Springs via Christian Beach, returning to Honeymoon Bay by 1 pm to tear down camp and enjoy a guided yoga and meditation session at the beach.
Cancellations made 30+ days in advance of the departure are fully refundable, minus a 5% administrative and Square processing fee. Cancellations made outside of the 30-day window are non-refundable. However, all trips are transferable to another qualified woman aged 18 or older prior to trip departure.
A minimum of 4 participants are required to run this trip. Registrants will be fully refunded if 4+ people have not registered 1 week in advance of departure.
Maegen is an elite endurance athlete and Salomon ambassador with extensive experience in both movement and the outdoors. She’s competed at the Ironman World Championships, completed a 70 km winter ultra along the Bruce Trail, and brings years of hiking, trail running, and backcountry experience—having hiked the Lake Superior Coastal Trail, Pukaskwa Coastal Trail and the La Cloche Trail (3x… once in under 16 hours)! She previously participated in a 100 km trail race from Courmayeur, Italy to Champex-Lac, Switzerland to Chamonix, France. She spent her summers throughout university tree planting in northern Ontario and is no stranger to Ontario’s backcountry. Off the mat, you’ll find Maegen cycling, skiing, and running in the Blue Mountains. You can learn more about Maegen and her personal business, Conscious Club Yoga, here. Your other co-facilitator will be SHE Ventures founder Lauri Corlett. You can learn more about Lauri here.
