Spend five days in the gorgeous Riveria Maya learning to focus on yourself again. Through workshops led by Kristen Elrod, life and wellness coach, you’ll learn the tools to manage your mind, deal with recurring negative thoughts, set clear boundaries, discover your passions, and prioritize yourself again after years of putting everyone else first.

Set between the ocean and the jungle, you’ll experience the peacefulness of being away from real life and having nothing to distract you from focusing on yourself. Sometimes we have to completely get away, right?

We’ll be staying at the Secrets Maroma Beach and you’ll have your very own room to retreat to at the end of every day. While the workshops will be an integral part of the retreat, the goal is for you to leave feeling totally rejuvenated so there will be plenty of time for you to relax on the beach or by the pool with a good book.

With a small group of like-minded women, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know the other women and share openly about the struggles of what it means to be so giving to others. It’s not a bad thing, but too much of it can cause a little bitterness and we want to overcome that and work through it during our time together. You’ll learn how to go back to “real life” fully prepared to handle difficult situations by managing your own mind.

You’ll also learn about mindfulness through a yoga and meditation practice. New to all of that? No worries. You’ll get a basic understanding of where you hold emotion in your body and how to properly determine when your thoughts are causing you to feel tense. So be sure to bring your yoga clothes.

After two days of working on yourself, relaxing, catching up on that book you’ve been wanting to read for months, and soaking in the sun, we will take an excursion together to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, the cenotes, and we’ll snorkel at Yal-Ku on our final day.

All food, beverages, service, and airport transportation are included, as well as the option for a spa treatment. You also have a fitness center, entertainment opportunities, non-motorized water sports, and a round of golf available if you want to be adventurous during your time there.

There will be a range of food and drink options for you to choose from, but if you do have specific needs, be sure to let us know. Essentially, this means you don’t have to think about anything.

Although international flights are not included, Kristen has partnered with a travel agent to support you in making flight arrangements if needed.

After enjoying a lovely breakfast, it's time to get started with the real reason you are here - to put yourself first and start working on forming positive habits and releasing tension in the body.

The first workshop will take place from 9-12, with coffee and snacks.

After lunch, take the afternoon to relax by the pool, beach, or in the spa.

We will enjoy dinner together in the evening.

Enjoy breakfast followed by a group yoga class. After releasing emotion and tension, on Day 1, we will focus on moving the body with lightness and freedom.

After yoga, the group will embark on the second workshop.

In the afternoon, you'll have your 30 minute 1:1 coaching session with Kristen. Early-bird participants will get a full hour session.

Group Excursion to Tulum and Cenote

Get ready for three unique adventures in one unforgettable exploration of the Riviera Maya. First, discover the only archaeological site built next to the Caribbean Sea at Tulum. Then take in the beauty of a magical cenote (freshwater sinkhole) and experience swimming in an underground universe of rock formations. Finally, encounter the rich marine life that inhabits the Yal-ku inlet before topping off your day with a beachside lunch.

Explore the seaside temples of Tulum

After pick-up at your resort, the journey begins with a visit to the magical Mayan ruins of Tulum, the only archaeological site built next to the Caribbean Sea. With an expert bilingual guide, you’ll learn about how the walled city of Tulum was important for the Mayans as a worship center to the ‘Descending God’, whose temple you can see on this outing. You’ll also view perhaps the most iconic of Tulum’s structures, ‘El Castillo’, which served as a lighthouse for tradesman coming into the city from the open sea.

After your guided tour and free time in Tulum, your excursion continues at a magical Mayan cenote (sinkhole) for a cool swim in its crystal-clear waters. Cenotes were sacred to the Mayans, and once you encounter the breathtaking beauty of its caverns and rock formations, you’ll understand how this underground river system inspired an ancient civilization. For thousands of years, drop by drop, nature has artistically molded the rock formations within the caves, leaving stunningly perfect figures that will take your mind into new worlds.

Snorkel with colorful sea life at Yal-ku

The final stop takes you to another marvel of nature — the blue waters of the Yal-ku inlet. This aquatic paradise gets its magical color from a subterranean river that mixes with ocean water. With full snorkel equipment, you’ll explore the abundant, multi-color marine life that only exists in this freshwater-saltwater ecosystem. And to put the final touches on a perfect day, let your eyes feast on a paradise beach while your taste buds delight in a beach-side lunch, giving you some well-deserved rest and relaxation before returning to your resort.
