Historic Munich and Christmas markets!
Day: today we will explore the stunning and historic centre of Munich. Taking a private guided tour, we will learn about the history and culture of Munich, and see highlights including the Frauenkirche, see the world-famous Glockenspiel, learn about the German Beer Purity Law, about the rise of the Nazi party in pre-World War II Bavaria, and try the delights on offer at the Viktualienmarkt food market (private guided tour included)

Lunch We will spend time wandering Munich's magical Christmas markets, soaking in the sights and sounds, drinking Christmas punch and perhaps buying gifts for ourselves and our loved ones!

Afternoon Free time to explore Munich, visiting one of the many fascinating museums and galleries.

Imperial palaces and winter wonder!

Visit the fairytale-style palace - The Royal Residence (included)

Home to Bavaria's Kings and Dukes, this magnificent palace has 130 ornately decorated rooms, as well as a stunning royal treasury. Enjoy a audio guided tour to explore at your own pace.

Lunch

After the tour we will visit the Medieval Christmas Market, where the stall owners dress in costumes of the age. We will listen to music played on medieval instruments and get in the festive mood enjoying Glühwein from pottery mugs.

Afternoon

Free time to explore Munich, visiting one of the many fascinating museums and galleries.

For dinner we will go to a Bavarian restaurant to share a traditional dinner together! (included)

This adventure was amazing! I really enjoyed traveling to a country that I would have otherwise not been able to visit. I do think that there could have been more accommodations/ it was challenging to participate fully around the town for the scavenger hunt since it was cold and some of us have mobility issues. I also think that there could have been better options for breakfast (more vegan would have been great) and coffee/water/ tea available at all times(!) but overall it was great!

I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my time in Iceland. Perfectly planned with several adventures, meeting wonderful new people and also getting the best tour guides and host to really make this trip memorable. The location was ideal, easy transport to the town, the hotel was perfect with breakfast/all required amenities and it was so lovely to have our own private mini bus to go around Iceland and explore this made this trip very unique! I thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm already thinking about joining again next year! Big shout out to the very clear guide sent to us prior to the trip so we had a good understanding of what to expect of the trip, what to bring and some great top tips! Extremely well organised, thank you so much GGI travel team for this experience, I look forward to joining several more! Samia :) x

This was my first global meet up with Girl Gone International and it most definitely won't be my last! Everything was planned to the T! Violet was great, she was informative, welcoming and definitely went the extra mile in making this one of the best trips I've ever been on.
