About your trip

This glacier training session contributes in 2 ways to the preparation for altitude climbs in Ecuador. The first is acclimatization, we hike up to the glacier and have a good time in altitude. Then the second part is a glacier school, where you will learn the basics, necessary for your upcoming climb: getting to know the equipment, walking techniques, rope team travel, use of ice axe and self arrest. Definitely a trip of a lifetime - join us!

Technically the climb / hike is not very difficult, nevertheless good fitness is required and some previous glacier travel experience recommended.

Another very important point is proper acclimatization. To really enjoy the hike we recommend at least 1 - 2 days of preparation, including hikes in altitude and steadily increasing your sleeping altitude if possible.
