Girls LOVE Travel is thrilled to collaborate with with GLTer-owned Heart of Travel to bring you an incredible adventure through Guatemala 🇬🇹🌋 

Your spot will be secured when we receive a deposit of $500.  
Upon receipt, the deposit paid is nonrefundable and non-transferable.

Below are the payment schedules: 
Final Balance due Feb 20th, 2024 (60 days before departure)
Payment plans can be arranged and set up to assist with paying in full by the deadline. 

In the event that you need to cancel your trip, these fees will be applied:  

• Between Now - Feb 20 (60 days before departure)- GLT retains only nonrefundable deposit
• Between 46 - 59 days before departure (Feb 21-March 5) - GLT retains 50% of the tour price 

• Between 31 - 45 days before departure (March 6-20) - GLT retains 75% of the tour price 

• Less than 30 days before departure (March 21 to departure) - GLT retains 100% of tour price  

ADD ONS - you can choose to add or cancel these up until 30 days before the trip.

Single room for the duration of the trip is an extra cost of $500.
-- This can not be canceled or refunded closer than 45 days prior to your trip.  

Additionally, the tour is listed as a package, and no price adjustments will be given if someone chooses to leave the trip early or "opt-out" of an included activity. 

Arrival: 

We recommend arriving on the first day around 1:00 pm to GUA (Guatemala City). This leaves time to arrive, transfer to Antigua and check in to your hotel before we have the evening cooking class.

Departure: 

We recommend departing after 12:00 pm from GUA (Guatemala City) to allow time to have breakfast, and transfer to the airport. 

As much as we want for this trip to go exactly as planned, we can not plan for complications that arise especially due to inclement weather or closures due to extenuating circumstances like Covid-19.  

While we hope that our trip attendees are vaccinated against COVID-19, we will not be requiring proof of vaccination to attend the trip. To ensure the safety of all GLTers on the trip, everyone will need to provide a negative covid test prior to the trip.  Home tests are accepted. You can email it to glttrips.covid@gmail.com.

Girls LOVE Travel will not be giving any refunds for those who test positive and are not able to join the trip. We highly encourage travel insurance to cover instances like this. 

We will be following all COVID protocols to ensure the safety of everyone on the trip.  Please be prepared to bring a mask to wear on the domestic flight, buses, and other enclosed experiences &/or local shops. 

Arrive in Guatemala where your Program Directors will be waiting to greet you at the airport and escort you via private shuttle to the charming town of La Antigua Guatemala, approximately 45 to 90 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. 

Enjoy an interactive Guatemalan cooking class at a small, 100% locally-owned cooking school. We will learn how to make an appetizer, main dishes, two sides, and dessert at this beautiful rooftop kitchen!

Walking Tour of Antigua Guatemala to get oriented. Here we will mix historical facts with useful information and inside tips about modern everyday life in Antigua Guatemala while enjoying a scavenger hunt!  Then we will have a coffee tour and a bit of a break to relax.  Then we will go make a piece of Jade jewelry to take home  and end the wonderful day with a dinner together!

10:30 - 2:30pm - Don José Coffee Tour & Lunch
4:30 - 7:30pm - Jade Workshop & Cocktails
7:30pm - Dinner at Barriga Llena 

Ready to hike?!
We will head out to Pacaya Volcano to hike up and see the active volcano in all its glory. You can even roast marshmallows! The views and area is incredible. After the hike, take some time to relax at the spa nearby and find your zen.

If you are not into hiking, no worries! You can go to the spa and relax and recharge as you wish! 

After some free time, we will have an optional group dinner at a local restaurant.

We will have breakfast before heading via van to Lake Atitlán (3 hours). This is a good time to chat, sleep or snack and relax!

Once we arrive to beautiful Lake Atitlán, we will head off on a cultural tour of San Juan La Laguna, and learn about coffee, textiles, medicine, chocolate and more! 

We will sit and have lunch and check into our hotel before having a free evening to relax and explore!

10:30 - 3:00 pm - San Juan La Laguna Cultural Tour (textiles, chocolate, medicinal plants, lunch)
3:00 - 4:30 pm - San Antonio Ceramic Workshop

If you want to see sunrise in Atitlán, you can take an optional morning kayak or visit the Nature Reserve.

And then after lunch we get to head to Hobbitenango!
If you love Lord of the Rings, this is your jam! This mountain oasis is right out of the movie, and has incredible views! Walk around, have a drink, and take as many pictures as you can. This is a highlight for many of our attendees!

Staying at the night at Hobbitenango or another lodge in that area for a different vibe, more mountainy, cozy - reunion vibes.

We will enjoy an early morning breakfast before heading to Flores.

We will then catch a quick, 50 minute, domestic flight in order to visit Guatemala’s northeastern lowlands. Upon arrival, we will head to Tikal National Park with a stop for lunch in El Remate.

After exploring the park, we will check into our accommodations and have a free night to enjoy the area and relax!

After breakfast we will head to the beautiful Crater Azul for a swim and picnic lunch to cool off and relax. 

We will later board a flight back to Guatemala City where we will enjoy a group farewell dinner.  We can go out after if you fancy a night out!

It's time to head home, with all your memories to take back with you! 

Enjoy breakfast together before making the quick trip to the airport to head back home.  (airport transfer included)
