Cocachimba is located at the heart of the Valley of Waterfalls in the Amazonas region of Peru. Our incredible hosts Gianna and Sergio run a meaningful artist residency and nature lodge in Cocachimba called GoctaLab.
Gianna is a painter and Sergio is a sculptor, both of whom have studied and taught at world-renowned institutions in Peru and beyond. Having joined forces in the making of Goctalab, they have combined their art with the backdrop of the spectacular natural environment of the Amazon and a passion for sustainable innovation and experimentation.
The result is GoctaLab: an art residence and organic coffee farm where fresh ideas come to life and a symbiotic balance between humans and nature presides. The ever present view of the cascading Gocta waterfall in the distance reminds us each day of the power of nature and the transience of life on this planet. We believe, above all, that it’s our duty to respect it and protect it, and in doing so we are making life more healthy and sustainable for our communities and future generations. https://www.goctalab.org/
Claire Beiersdorf: I have lived in Cusco for the last decade, deepening my yoga and spiritual practice. Throughout these years, I have discovered what it really is to live a spiritually rich life. More than anything, I want to share with you where I live and the experiences that have enriched my life, on and off the mat. This won’t be your typical yoga retreat. I want us to share in the experience of leaving our comfort zone. In the hopes that we have a truly unique experience together.
