About this trip

This retreat is more than a yoga retreat. This is an immersive, transformative experience to help you find healing, connect with mother nature, and to your feminine energy in the beautiful Caribbean jungle of Costa Rica

This journey is an opportunity to step away from your everyday routine, be immersed in the jungle all while cultivating and honoring your worth, and powerful feminine energy!

Studies show that when like minded women gather together, levels of oxytocin increase significantly. I have experienced this personally in the many women’s gatherings that I have hosted and attended. These experiences have been an essential part to my own personal growth and is the reason why I feel called to lead this retreat and hold space for others.

Sign up by December 31st to receive the early bird pricing. After December 31st, prices will go up $100.

This retreat is for anyone who identifies as she/her or them/they

Yoga

Yoga and meditation classes will be offered everyday. Morning classes will be a moderately paced vinyasa flow practice with lots of options for all. Evening classes will be gentle and restorative.  We will also explore Gamma Breathwork! Yoga classes are open to all levels.

Activites

There will be several different ceremonies and workshops throughout the retreat including; an opening night ceremony, cacao ceremony, sound healing ceremony, and the closing night Goddess Awakening ceremony.

We will take a trip to the Bri Bri Indigenous community, where we will  learn about cacao and how it is made into chocolate, and learn about the medicinal herbs of the Talamanca region. On the way back, we will stop to see a waterfall.

See the itinerary below for specifics.

Food

Three vegetarian meals a day consisting of fresh local fruits and vegetables, fish will be served occasionally.  Fresh coffee, tea, juice, and drinking water will be available throughout the day.  We welcome all dietary restrictions.

Location

Playa Negra is Puerto Viejo’s black sand beach that stretches just over 10 kilometers of volcanic rock sand and crystal clear waters. Often more secluded and quiet than Puerto Viejo’s white sand beaches, it is great for surfing, swimming, or a long beach stroll.

Puerto Viejo is different than the rest of Costa Rica. Puerto meaning port and viejo meaning old, it’s a town full of rich culture, music, afro caribe vibes, and all things Pura Vida. What makes this place unique to Costa Rica is that it is essentially the melting pot of the country with Jamaican and Panamanian immigrants, Indigenous communities, local Costa Ricans, and expats from all over Europe and the Americas.

Accommodations

The modern architecture of Sonora Caribbean Jungle Retreat is created by Italian designers. It offers elegant interior decorations, the use of fine linen and cotton fabrics, soft colors and warm touches of Caribbean wood. Each room has local art. The designers have put a lot of precision into each object they have chosen, making each room unique and different.

All accommodations are caribbean style tropical bungalows with air conditioning. Newly built, open air rooms with a private bathroom (hot water shower) and private front porch.  Sonora Jungle Retreat Center is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by nature and is about a 15 minute walk from the beach, Playa Negra.
