      About this trip

Tickets for the May 30 Savannah Bananas game are purchased and my confirmation email says this purchase is a "legendary move.  The news in Bananaland is spreading about our arrival and the Bananas are throwing a party for us"!  This sets the tone for some of the hilarity that we will be experiencing.  Perhaps you have seen the media coverage on ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sunday Morning or Access Hollywood to mention a few.

Besides the Bananas, the trip includes a Managers Reception at our hotel, the Historic River Street  Inn on arrival night.  This is so much fun because the setting overlooks the fascinating people watching on River Street and the jaw dropping views of the huge cargo ships cruising by us.

The trip also includes a narrated trolley tour of the Historic District so you can get orientated to the city and explore on your own.  After all, there are only 22 historic squares to visit, each unique but home to beautiful southern homes, museums, historic churches and one of my favorites, the Prohibition Museum!  Our tour also includes a stop at two "must sees" for Savannah, The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and the famous Forsyth Square and Fountain.  We even enjoy an ice cream social here from the equally famous Leopolds!

Following the trolley orientation, there is afternoon time as well as time on the second day to enjoy your own "Savannah Experience".  Your trip host will be your concierge with suggestions, maps and Visitor Guides.  One optional tour will be offered on the second day.  This is a two hour walking tour led by a storyteller of the famous Bonaventure Cemetery.  This has been voted one of the top 10 most beautiful cemeteries in the world and the subject of author John Berendt's book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil".

      Payment Policy

Please note that you have payment options.  1.  Credit card but there is a fee. 2.  ACH bank draft - no fee or 3.  Venmo or 4.  You can send Patty a check.  If you choose to do this, please email me at tripsbypatty@gmail.com or call 404-791-3166.  A $300 deposit is required at time of registration and final payment is due on April 1st.

      Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel, a full refund is available up until 45 days prior to departure.  After that time, refunds are dependent on the ability to rebook the reservation.

      What if it rains?

Savannah does experience "pop-up" storms but it is rare that the entire game is cancelled.  The philosophy is that the "show must go on" even if the Banana Ball entertainment is shortened or delayed.  Our "open seating" tickets offer seating under cover.

I love to travel so in my partially retired life I decided to adapt my passion for travel along with 25 years of experience in Travel & Tourism to create Trips by Patty. I received a BA in American History from UNC-Chapel Hill. Not knowing what I was going to do with that degree, I started working as a desk clerk at a hotel in Raleigh. I enjoyed the hotel business and the career path began. Hotel operations and sales, Convention Center operations and marketing, destination marketing with a Convention Visitors Bureau and even a stint as a tour guide. What happened to the history degree? Well, many times when I am escorting my trips I share the history of the destinations we visit. It's a great feeling to take your career skills and adapt them to your own small business. I love what I do and hope you'll join me on a trip one day!

First of many trips with Patty. Loved the entire Biltmore day. Starting with a nice breakfast, Biltmore, fantastic dinner and the Gingerbread entrees!!! Patty knew her stuff and was very personable! Travel days were just that - how could you improve upon that? Thanks Patty

This was my husband’s first bus trip stateside and I believed he really loved it! Being 6’3” I was worried he’d not be comfortable, but he was fine! The weather cooperated and we truly enjoyed ourselves the whole trip! We made a few friends as well. Patty was a very knowledgeable and generous host, and we look forward to seeing Biltmore again in the spring when it will be nicer to enjoy the gardens!

We had an awesome adventure. Patty had researched items that we would encounter at each and every stop, including rest stops. Absolutely awesome tour guide and our Driver Donnie was AWESOME as well. Went onboard to a bus that I didn't know anyone, and came home with a bus load of new friends. I am looking forward to my next adventure with Patty. The sooner the better. T James
