Gokyo Lakes Trek Detailed Itinerary

  


Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be met by a representative of your trekking company and transferred to your hotel.


Day 2: Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610m) Today, you will take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, which is considered one of the most scenic flights in the world. After arriving in Lukla, you will meet your guide and start your trek towards Phakding, which is a beautiful village located on the banks of the Dudh Koshi River.


Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) The trail from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is a gradual ascent, passing through beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine. Along the way, you will cross several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant town and the commercial hub of the Khumbu region.


Day 4: Rest Day in Namche Bazaar Today is a rest day in Namche Bazaar, which will help you acclimatize to the high altitude. You can explore the town, visit the local museum, or hike to the nearby villages of Khumjung and Khunde.


Day 5: Trek to Dole (4,200m) The trail from Namche Bazaar to Dole is a steep climb, passing through several small villages and offering beautiful views of the Himalayas. You will also pass through the beautiful rhododendron and fir forests, and if you are lucky, you may spot some wildlife along the way.


Day 6: Trek to Machhermo (4,470m) Today, you will trek towards Machhermo, which is a small village located at the foot of the Machhermo Glacier. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including Cho Oyu and Kangtega.


Day 7: Trek to Gokyo (4,790m) Today is the highlight of the trek as you trek toward the beautiful Gokyo Valley. The trail passes through several glacial lakes and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. You will spend the night in Gokyo, which is located on the banks of the beautiful Gokyo Lake.


Day 8: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m) Today, you will hike to the Gokyo Ri viewpoint, which offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. You will also get to see the beautiful Ngozumpa glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas.


Day 9: Trek to Dole (4,200m) Today, you will retrace your steps back to Dole, passing through the beautiful landscapes and scenic villages along the way.


Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) Today, you will trek back to Namche Bazaar, passing through the beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine and crossing several suspension bridges along the way.


Day 11: Trek to Lukla (2,860m) Today is the last day of the trek as you trek back to Lukla, passing through several small villages and beautiful landscapes along the way.


Day 12: Flight back to Kathmandu Today, you will take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu, where you will have the rest of the day to explore the city or relax in your hotel.


Day 13: Departure from Kathmandu Today, you will be transferred to the airport for the final departure.
