About the Gokyo Valley Lake Trek

The Gokyo Valley Lake Trek is an adventurous journey leading to some of the most prized treasures of the Khumbu region. The path takes us into Gokyo Valley, one of the highest settlements in Nepal.  You’ll see all of the massive snowy peaks that are characteristic of the Everest region, including some of the world's renowned 8000-meter peaks.  But the real gem of this trek comes when you reach the glacial Gokyo Lakes. During our exploration day in Gokyo Valley, we hike Gokyo Ri (Gokyo Peak), the most exciting part of the trek. You will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime view of glaciers, peaks, and the jaw-dropping turquoise, shimmering Gokyo Lakes.

Why Gokyo Lakes Trek?

The Gokyo Lakes trek offers a fantastic alternative for those seeking to avoid the crowds of the Everest Base Camp trek. While the allure of reaching Everest Base Camp is undeniably romantic and attracts hundreds of trekkers during peak seasons, the Gokyo Lakes trek provides a quieter experience without compromising on breathtaking scenery.

This trek not only offers a more tranquil journey but also features mesmerizing landscapes. The vibrant turquoise lakes are a visual feast, and from the summit of Gokyo Ri, you'll be rewarded with awe-inspiring views of four of the world's highest peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, each towering above 8,000 meters.

Additionally, you can witness the Ngozumpa Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the Himalayas. This expanse of rocky debris and ice is a striking feature of the region,

Maximum Partcipants

We’ve limited enrollment to a maximum of 15 participants to ensure a more intimate and personalized experience, as well as to better manage the challenges of the high-altitude trek.

Getting Ready for Trekking in Nepal

If you're in good health and enjoy staying active, you're likely ready to join us for trekking in Nepal, whether you’re interested in an easy, moderate, strenuous, or technical trek. The Himalayas are famous for their stunning heights, and the altitude can make treks feel more challenging.

For those who have trekked at high altitudes before, you might find the trek to be more manageable. However, if this is your first time in such a high-altitude environment, a bit of preparation can be very helpful. We recommend some physical training to make your trek more enjoyable.

You can start by practicing hiking on nearby hills, or engage in regular jogging or swimming at home. This training will help ease the trek and enhance your experience.
