Hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains range, one of the most picturesque places of the entire East Coast 🍁 In this time of the year we expect to spot the golden foliage palette of colors on the slopes of the mountains, and along the banks of streams and waterfalls - from bright red to golden yellow! Add to your imagination the “waves” of mountain ranges immersed in a mysterious blue haze - that's the reason why this mountains are called Smoky.

Hikers should always be prepared for a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions while hiking in the mountain regions. Temperatures in the mountains typically fluctuate as weather patterns change. Be prepared for rain & shine.
In the fall season (September-October) average daytime temperatures can vary between 70-75F degrees; however, overnight and in the early morning lows throughout the park can drop to near 40 degrees.

Good to know:
Be prepared that on some trails it is possible to wade streams and the water can be knee-deep. Please bring special shoes (sandals or sandals) or a change of hiking shoes.
Participant can cancel their trip anytime prior departure with the following penalties:
- Cancellation 45+ days before departure - fully refundable
- Cancellation 45 to 21 days before departure - registration deposit is non-refundable
- Cancellation 20 to 0 calendar days before departure – full trip cost is non refundable
Trip cancellation insurance is advisable; it protects all registration deposits and payments for both air and land cost.
Arrival in Charlotte, NC anytime before 3PM.
Meet with your Team Leaders at the airport (car rental office) and drive to Linville, NC. We will make a quick stop on the way to purchase groceries for our trail lunches for the following days.

Dinner at the restaurant or welcoming BBQ.
