The island of Gorgona is Colombia’s jewel of the pacific. In this exotic island you will be dazzled by an abundance of thick nature, fauna and flora. This beautiful piece of land is the house to a variety of exotic species and incredible sights that only the Colombian pacific can offer. You will find yourself endlessly staring at the thick clouds in the stubby mountains or being overwhelmingly overcome with a sense of peace while meditating on the beachside with only the sounds of the jungle and ocean to water down your worries. 

This carefree tropical paradise offers a variety of activities to do: from visiting the old prison that used to house the most dangerous prisoners to scuba diving and snorkeling in the vast coral reef. You will have the chance to visit beautiful beaches that have been barely touched by human intervention while being properly guided by knowledgeable and professional teacher. 

Come back to your roots in an island in the middle of the pacific and lose yourself to nature...

We will drop you off at the airport and direct you towards the flight you must take to Guapi. The flights usually leave at around 10 or 11 AM depending on what day you chose your package and it usually lasts between 45 min and 1 hour. 

You will have a tuk-tuk pick you up from the airport. An experienced driver with all your details will be ready to take you to the port where you will take a speed boat to the Island. Enjoy the serenity of the sea and the beauty offered by the pacific. You might even get the chance to spot dolphins, whales and a variety of birds!

As you come in you will appreciate the beauty of a large mystic mountain surrounded by thick clouds and an abundance of nature. After going through a customs, check in, and paying the entry fee (see what is not included). The hotel manager will receive you and provide you with all the information you need and then take you to a beautiful spacious room in a cabin with a large bathroom and a front porch with a hammock. 

After settling in, you will be directed to a conference room where the park rangers will thoroughly explain all the rules and precautions of the island. You will be provided with a typical lunch of the region and then head down to one of Colombia's darkest prisons.  Gorgona Island prison was modeled after many prisons of its time, such as alcatraz. This placed housed political enemies and the individuals deemed to be to dangerous for society.  Since it closed back in 1984, the jungle has taken over its land again and is slowly consuming its walls and infrastructure creating a dawning sight to experience. The knowledgeable park rangers will explain a variety of urban legends and stories of this draw dropping prison. 

After the prison you will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful beach private only to the hotel where you are staying. Where you can enjoy in privacy and serenity a nice personal meditation. 

On day 2 we will wake up, get some breakfast and head over to one of Gorgonas most beautiful beaches. With an exclusive view to gorgonilla and exotic blue waters, you will find yourself strolling alongside coconut palms and unique tropical charm. We will enjoy a day of beach and sand. 

After a day in the beach, we will come back to the hotel where you might want to sit back, relax and enjoy the beaches or comfort of your cabin. You might also want to take advantage of this day and rent the scuba diving equipment to explore some of the most elegant coral reefs in the world (If time and tide allow it).  The scuba diving can only be done if you have the right training and certificate to prove it.

On day three you will be invited to come to another part of this small island where coral reefs have been maintained and protected from human intervention. The snorkel and equipment for swimming will be available to rent if you need, if not you can take your own. The knowledgeable park ranger will be there with you, caring for you and explaining any little detail you might want to know about the corral and all of its variety of sea life. 

After a wonderful trip and experience you will be led back to Guapi where a tuk-tuk will be ready to receive you and take you back to the airport. The plane back to cali should last around 45 minutes to an hour and we will be waiting for you at the airport to take you back to your place of lodging in Cali.
