Rincon Jiu Jitsu and Grappling Getaways are teaming up to create a trip of a lifetime! We are happy to announce that multiple time world champion "Elisabeth Clay" will be headlining as one of our lead instructors alongside of other top level black belt professors. This trip will certainly be an experience that you will never forget ! You will meet lots of likeminded individuals in which you will not only share the mats with, but also explore the beautiful island of Puerto Rico!

Villa Cofressi
Each room has 2 full size beds and a kitchen. Hotel is on the beach and directly across the street from the training facility.

Travel and Train
Everyone will be expected to get to the San Juan Airport between 11pm-2:00pm. If you can't be there during that time, you all be responsible for your own transportation to the hotel. We will load the vans and head to San Juan to grab lunch before leaving for Rincon. We are expecting to arrive at the Cofressi by 6:30pm where everyone will unpack and get settled in. We will then have an optional open mat that evening. Afterwards, we will get dinner and get some solid rest for the adventures that lie ahead!

Gozalandia Falls
Start the day off with a 9am Jiu Jitsu training session, After morning training we all head to Gozlandia Waterfalls in San Sebestian where we will be cliff jumping, rope swinging, and cooling off in the natural springs! There is a great little restaurant with all Puerto Rican favorites and delicious parcha mojitos. There will be an evening open mat. Then close the day watching a beautiful sunset.

Surf and Snorkel

There will be a 9am open mat as well as an optional surf lesson 9am - 11am. Surf lessons will be with professional surf instructors that will make it an unforgettable experience. After spending all this energy of practicing your surf moves we will be head back and grab some lunch. In the afternoon we will all head over to Steps Beach where you can snorkel and chill at beautiful Tres Palmas Marina reserve. We will then head back to the house and have some time to rest before an evening of hard jiu jitsu training!

La Parguera
Opening the day with 9am Jiu Jitsu session before we head out to the beautiful beaches of La Parguera!

Packing coolers of medalla beers and a traditional puerto rican lunch for everyone is included! serving medio pollo con aroz gondules y yuca. We will then rent boats and explore the mangroves and little islands in the Caribbean Sea. Just kiick back and enjoy this amazing piece of heaven all day!

To finish this amazing day right, we all return back just in time to watch sunset at the beautiful Beachhouse restaurant and bar!

Morning Open Mat and Q&A
Start the day off with a 9am Jiu Jitsu training session and Q&A, This day all black belt instructors will be present to answer your questions about techniques that were taught over the retreat as well as any other questions you might have.

After class we will all head back to the house to pack up and get ready to leave to San Juan by 12pm. You will be at the airport by 2:30pm so plan your return flight accordingly or you will be responsible for your one transportation.

Rincon Jiu Jitsu is s a part of Legion Jiu Jitsu Association and located in the beautiful town of Rincón Puerto Rico. The gym is own and operated by Steven Barnett who is an IBJJF certified 1st degree black belt under the UFC veteran, Kurt Pellegrino and grappling legend, Marcelo Garcia. Head instructor Sean Locke who is a 4th degree “Brazilian Top Team” black belt has been running a Jiu Jitsu program in Rincón for nearly 5 years. We are thankful that you have chosen us to help guide you along your martial arts journey!

Amazing experience put together by professor Steve. The jiu-jitsu instructional seminar by nick and Danny was next level and improved my game tremendously. Whether we were training or rock climbing we had a great time. The perfect blend of jiu-jitsu and adventure and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Everything about this trip was amazing! The accommodations exceeded my expectations, as did our island excursions. Everyone I met was genuinely kind and very personable. I'm looking forward to seeing them again at the next retreat. Most importantly, the jiu jitsu portion of the retreat was done in a manner that was challenging, yet safe. We trained harder than most gyms train, but everyone was also mindful of individual safety. As a disabled veteran, I can honestly say they earned my trust in this regard, and can be trusted with other at risk populations.
