Jab Jab J’ouvert in Grenada is not just an event, its a rite of passage! Known as one of the wildest and most intense carnival experiences in the Caribbean, this is something you cannot miss. Get ready to be covered in oil, feel the deep bass of the drums, and lose yourself in the raw, unfiltered energy of Jab!
After we wash off all the madness (and oil!), we switch gears and head back onto the road with Vibe Mas for monday wear.
After Monday we will get glowing for Monday Night Mas! There’s nothing like a late-night jam on the road—lights flashing, music pumping, and pure euphoria as we take over the streets. We keep the momentum going!
NOTE: Jab Jab is a powerful cultural tradition rooted in the legacy of emancipation from colonial and European oppression. More than just a spectacle, this ritual is a celebration of freedom and a reclamation of Black identity an identity that history has often taught us to suppress or devalue.
The act of covering the body in oil is deeply symbolic and spiritual. It is not merely for entertainment or for the benefit of social media. It is an expression of resilience, resistance, and ancestral pride.
We kindly ask all visitors to approach this event with the respect it deserves. If you are unfamiliar with the cultural or historical significance of Jab Jab, we encourage you to witness the celebration from the sidelines rather than participating directly. Your respect and understanding are deeply appreciated.
