TNA Travel is taking you to Guatemala and this time we'll be exploring the greater Antigua area. We'll be hiking Acatenango volcano, taking a local cooking class, trying out Antigua's food scene, visiting a local coffee farm, and so much more! We cannot wait for you all to experience the magic of Guatemala, it truly is unforgettable!

Arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA) and head to Antigua with pre-arranged transfer. We'll kick off the trip with a cooking class for dinner where we'll both create and try typical Guatemalan dishes!

Our first full day in Guatemala will be spent exploring beautiful Antigua. We'll start the morning with breakfast at the hostel before meeting up with our local guide who will take us on a walking tour around Antigua (including the famous Santa Catalina Arch). We'll also have the option to shop at Nim Pot Market for souvenirs to bring home! 

We'll have a bit of downtime for lunch and shopping before heading out to a local coffee farm where we'll take a tour of the coffee fields and learn about the entire coffee process from bean to brew. Plus you'll get to enjoy a cup of freshly roasted and prepared coffee at their home.

After an eventful day, we'll head to dinner as a group and spend the rest of our evening getting ready for our hike up Acatenango Volcano tomorrow!!

After breakfast at the hostel this morning, we'll head to the base of the Acatenango Volcano where we'll get a briefing from the tour company about the overnight hike that we'll be embarking on today. We'll spend the rest of the morning + afternoon hiking up the volcano where we will spend the night at base camp, watch sunset, and have the opportunity to see lava flowing out of Volcán Fuego all night (weather permitting).

Please note that the Acatenango Volcano hike is a very difficult hike. It takes approximately 5-6 hours to climb roughly 4,500ft from the beginning of the hike to base camp where we will stay for the night. The highest elevation that we will reach is 13,045ft.

The following services + add-ons are available for the Acatenango hike at an additional cost to the participant. These are not included in this trip package, however TNA can help you to arrange them with the tour provider.

We'll start the morning with a 1.5-hour hike from base camp to the summit of Acatenango (13,045ft elevation) where we will watch sunrise above the clouds. The hike is difficult but the views are incredible! We'll head back to base camp to enjoy breakfast & coffee before starting the hike back down the volcano.

If you have the energy, the entire afternoon will be open for you to check off any last things that you want to do or see in Antigua! If you're not feeling up to it, we'll have time to grab lunch, relax at the pool, or rest a bit. This afternoon is yours to choose. And tonight we'll have a big group dinner in town to celebrate our achievements!

Day five is the final day of our group trip and sadly time to say goodbye to Guatemala...

We'll have breakfast together at the hostel before heading back to GUA Airport where everyone will take their respective flights home.
