About your trip

1PM - 4PM  (waitlist for 9AM - 12PM)

Join Freedom resident and naturalist/owner/guide/instructor Lucie Villeneuve from Outdoor Escapes New Hampshire, LLC for a 2-3 hour paddle on the Ossipee River along the southern shore of Freedom for an opportunity to get into nature with safety, fun, and learning. Guide Sonya Porter from East Conway will be co-leading.

This trip is for paddlers ages 10+. If you are an experienced adult paddler (or two), younger children and non-paddling adults may ride with you. You will canoe or kayak up to 3 hours at an easy pace with instructor/guides nearby for assistance. If you are brand new to paddling, lessons are available beforehand by appointment.

Everyone must register by August 2, wear coast guard approved, properly-fitting PFDs (life jackets), and sign a waiver/release.

Please call Lucie with any questions or concerns, and especially if you want to rent a canoe/kayak to make sure you get the one right for you.

Pack List

For your comfort and performance in unpredictable weather and conditions, we recommend to bring/wear the following. (Extra gear, food, etc. will be put in a drybag we provide.)

- Layers of quick-drying clothing for the weather of the day and extra just in case of unpredictable weather, including a swim suit and/or shorts/pants & shirt, fleece top & bottom, rain jacket & pants, water shoes/sandals/old sneakers, paddling or weightlifting gloves (optional), and winter hat.

- Beach towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat.

- Water bottles (full) and favorite snacks. (We will have extra on hand.)

- Personal first aid kit, glasses with strap, & meds as needed for the trip.

- Optional phone/camera may be strapped to wrist or lanyard (not provided) or stored away in drybag until needed.
