Skills required: Beginner to intermediate
Departing from Launceston or Hobart, Tasmania on Day 1. Please arrive in either city the day before so we can depart early on Day 1.
Our hire e-bikes consist of Trek and Norco, each fitted with flat pedals and a complementary helmet. Please provide accurate weight and height measurements for bike size and suspension setup. If any measurements have been guessed, please take the time to record these accurately and resubmit to us via bookings@gointothewild.com.au. An Into The Wild staff member will also double-check these ahead of time. You are welcome to bring your own helmet.
We highly recommend travel insurance to cover any unexpected delays, lost luggage, interruptions or medical treatments.
We recommend booking with our partners at Change Overnight in Launceston on Day 0, or The Woolstore in Hobart. We are happy to do this for you, so please tick this box when booking with us.
Derby accommodation
We will book you into a fully self-contained AirBnb style accommodation house/apartment with one of our partners. All linen and towels are provided. All accommodation is located within Derby and in easy walking distance to the Floating Sauna, cafes, bike shops and restaurants. Some of our partners include Tin Mountain and Postmasters Derby.
Here are a few things to help you prepare and pack for your adventure with Into The Wild.
From the moment you jump in the vehicle, we want you to think less and experience more; taking in the wonder that is Tasmania. Our tours feel more like catching up with old friends you haven’t seen in years and being shown their home. We simply love showing people our backyard, and it shows in everything we do.
Our vehicles are completely tailored to our needs, with USB charging ports, a fridge, drinking water, mountain bike tools and spares, lots of storage, snacks, and good tunes. All bikes are stored in our lockable and enclosed trailer or secured safely on any one of our custom bike racks or shuttle trailers.
What to wear on Day 1:
Please be dressed ready to ride. We will make a short stop at a supermarket so you can stock up on breakfast, personal items, and snacking supplies. Within a couple of hours, we’ll arrive in Derby and begin the day’s ride.
Skill levels
Our 3 Day Guided Tours are perfect for beginner and intermediate riders. All our guides are PMBI Level 1 certified and can provide riding advice and direction if required. A small tweak to your riding can make all the difference.
