This 5 day "on-the-go" program features the highlights of Cuba in an active itinerary which includes several walking tours as well as some early starts and long days. Itinerary is subject to change. If any activities do change, they will be replaced by other approved people-to-people activities.

The range of attractions on offer in Havana is impressive. Like culture? You can explore a meticulously renovated Unesco World Heritage Site with more than 40 museums. Dig music? Visit an art factory where you can listen to internationally recognized musicians. Prefer the beach? Havana has half-a-dozen of ‘em, all embellished with white sand and shady palm trees. Havana has a soul to it rarely found anywhere else in the world.

Themed Events (typically a color or style of outfit) may occur on group bookings. It is optional to participate in the event if the event, however if you do choose to participate with the group, we ask that all travelers adhere to any requirements provided by your travel agent in order to have a cohesive group. Themed events will be provided NLT 30 days prior to travel.

There is no vaccination record or PCR requirement to enter Cuba at this time. However, as part of the ANSE promise, we highly recommend travelers get a negative PCR or Antigen Test within 48 hours of travel.

The day before departure, you must complete the online Health & Customs form at: https://www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu/inicio. Print and take with you to the airport. Present at the Havana Airport. You don’t need to fill out the Customs & Health forms from the airline.

Keep Tourist Visa with you when you leave Cuba. Also, you must keep your signed one-page affidavit, tour itinerary and home voucher in a file for 5 years.

Excursions

Note: A Minimum of 2 people is needed to operate any tour. Some tours have a max of 15 people, so groups may be split up in two small groups to accommodate anyone interested when the count exceeds (15). Excursions can be added later; but must be added NLT 90 prior to departure (subject to availability).

Individuals with multiple trips booked with ANSE must be in good standing with payments. ANSE reserves the right to refuse bookings to anyone.

All payments to Art N Soul Escapes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Art N Soul Escapes has contractual agreements with hotels, airlines and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds (unless you have purchased travel insurance). This way we can keep our package prices competitive and allow you to make monthly payments on your vacation. Deposits are always non-refundable.

Due to the vendor relationships that Art N Soul Escapes has with it's vendors, we try to keep from modifying or cancelling our contractual agreements. Cancellations affect the entire group traveling (especially your roommate), therefore we highly suggest you choose wisely when selecting a travel mate. Any cancelations may result in higher deposits or up front package prices on future trips. ANSE is not liable for any roommate cancelations and changes in prices as a result of a an occupancy change.

Day 1 – Arrival, Check In & Visit with Host, Welcome Dinner, Cannon Fire

Our driver and guide will welcome you at Jose Marti International Airport. On your way to your accommodations, you will enjoy a panoramic view of Plaza of the Revolution, Old Havana and Vedado.

Early Welcome Dinner at Chef Ivan’s El Carbon Restaurant (Included).

Pamper your senses with an outstanding, family style welcome dinner. The menu includes typical Cuban dishes like "arroz con pollo" and "masitas de cerdo." Chef Ivan uses new recipe ideas from his travels around the world to create his flavorful "Cuban fusion" cuisine. Join the list of many happy clients including the King of Spain, Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Penelope Cruz and others!

Cannon Fire Ceremony

Around 7 pm, take a drive to the fairgrounds of Castillo de San Carlos de la Cabaña. A spectacular sunset and view of the city awaits you. Meet tourists and locals who visit the fort to witness the unique tradition of the Cannon Fire Ceremony. Since the 1700's, this event takes place at 9 pm, signifying the closing of the city doors. Furthermore, you may shop for souvenirs at the end of the event.

Colonial Plazas and Cabaret Parisien
Plaza Vieja

The eclectic Plaza Vieja is surrounded by colorful colonial buildings. The oversized Carrara dominates the center of the plaza. Great place for photos!

Lunch at La Vitrola Restaurant (Included)

Rest and delight in a “al fresco” lunch at La Vitrola. The restaurant offers a great view of the energy of the plaza.

Plaza San Francisco de Asis

The plaza features the Basilica Menor San Francisco de Asis, the boutique Hotel del Marques de San Felipe and Santiago de Bejucal, and the Chamber of Commerce.

Plaza de Armas

The Plaza houses the Hotel Santa Isabel, the Templete Monument and the Castillo de la Fuerza Real.

Plaza La Catedral

The Cathedral Church dominates this Plaza, but you can also discover restaurants and small museums within the square. Hemingway’s Bodeguita del Medio is a “most stop,” for a mojito and to leave your name on one of the street walls.

Old Havana – Obispo Boulevard

Stroll Obispo Boulevard, a lively street full of cafes with live music. You will have a look, from the outside, of the Hotel Ambos Mundos, where Hemingway wrote “As the Bell Tolls.” Next stop, the famous Floridita. Hemingway's life size statue at the bar and enjoy the best mojitos. You may have something to eat at one of the many bars and restaurants (if you are not doing the Cabaret).

Dress up time for the Cabaret Parisien Dinner/Show! Beautifully staged, the show represents the development of the Cuban “mulato,” a fusion of Indian, African, and Spanish roots.

Varadero Beach
Varadero Beach with Lunch (Day long)

Varadero is one of Cuba's jewels, a charming town known for its powder white sand beaches and laid-back atmosphere. The ride will take about two hours. On the way to Varadero, we will stop at the impressive Bacunayagua look-out point and take in a panoramic view of the Matanzas province. Once in Varadero, delight on lunch at a local, private restaurant. Then, enjoy the Varadero beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Last, visit the town and connect with local vendors. Return to Havana in the late afternoon.

D’Primera (Included)

Mostly known for the nightlife shows, this spot serves as a restaurant for lunch. They serve the best fish croquettes in Havana!

Fusterlandia is a hidden, colorful city, in Jaimanitas, in the outskirts of Havana to the west. A creative wonderland of mosaic tile and recycled art, designed by the most famous artist in Cuba, Jose Fuster, Fusterlandia is a fun place to visit.

Enjoy live music while you shop for souvenirs and art.

This was an absolutely wonderful trip! I had always wanted to go on a Mystery Trip, not being much of a planner, but a show up and lets go kinda person, and Nikki made that an enjoyable experience. From beginning to end, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. She allowed us to have time to our own devices, while doing some activities as a group. I like to relax and unplug on vacation, not feel as though I need a vacation from the vacation, and the Mystery Trip provided the perfect opportunity to do that.
