MARY SUSAN STULTS
Southern Utah native Mary Susan Stults has been practicing Yoga for over 25 years since she was a young teen, studying Vipassana meditation for 18 years, surfing for 20 years, and Stand Up Paddleboarding for over 8 years now. Born in Fort Payne, Alabama, Mary Susan was raised in Cedar City, a town in southwest Utah about an hour from Zion National Park. Mary Susan, an avid nature lover, grew up hiking, climbing, canyoneering, rafting, and exploring the many hiking trails, rivers, rocks, mountains, canyons, and the endless outdoor beauty of Utah and Colorado with her friends and family. Despite growing up landlocked Mary grew up a deep love and appreciation for the ocean and water and that passion has only grown with each passing year.
After moving to Boulder, Colorado in 2001 to attend the University of Colorado-Boulder, she has made Colorado her home for nearly 17 years. As an outdoor-enthusiast-at-heart, you can often find this nature lover hiking or biking on a trail, paddling, surfing, practicing yoga on the water, camping, climbing, or backpacking in the mountains or desert, or exploring her yoga practice outdoors! Mary Susan loves to share her passion for the outdoors and adventure with those around her, which has led her to plan and lead global yogaretreats and adventure yoga retreats throughout Colorado and around the globe!
Mary Susan teaches a knowledgable, dynamic, sustainable, refreshing, and compassionate, alignment-based practice that intelligently weaves and blends together the traditions of Ashtanga and Iyengar, while making the most of props! Many describe her energy as contagious, finding her nurturing, wise, grounded, and patient style of teaching to be welcoming and supportive. She infuses her Yoga, Meditation, SUP, and SUP Yoga classes, workshops, and retreats with her grounded yet light-hearted nature.
For Mary, being a student of the practice of Yoga is as important as being a teacher. When she is not working and teaching herself you can often find her in a teacher training or Yoga intensive with her forever teacher, Maty Ezraty with whom she has completed over 800+ hours of formal training, and well over 2000 hours total. Mary Susan will begin assisting her mentor and teacher Maty Ezraty this year beginning with the Pacific NorthWest Yoga Conference this February, 2018 in Seattle, WA and continuing on from there.
As a forever student, Mary Susan has studied with a plethora of teachers including Maty Ezraty, Richard Freeman, Seane Corn, Annie Carpenter, Schuyler Grant, Jason Bowman, Libba Harmon, Asha Wolfe, Jason Crandall, Carrie Owerko, James Brown, Gillian Gibree, and many more with her studies taking her to India, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Aspen, Boulder, Denver, Utah, San Francisco, San Diego, Mexico, Paris, and beyond. She will be completing another 200hr yoga teacher training with Maty Ezraty and Judith Hanson Lassater in Northern California this upcoming October 14th - November 16th, 2018.
She hopes to help others delve into what it means to live well physically, mentally, and spiritually, by exploring and developing their own Yoga and meditation practice, and translating the joy, strength, confidence, mindfulness, balance, and grace that we find on the mat, into our lives off the mat!
She leads AYFK Kids Yoga Teacher Trainings several times a year through her company Adventure Yoga For Kids, and will be offering SUP & SUP Yoga Teacher Trainings through her company Float & Flow Yoga & SUP beginning in 2018 (July 27th - 29th / Boulder, CO).. She also offers Yoga, Meditation, SUP, and SUP Yoga privates, small-group classes, corporate yoga classes, workshops, trainings, intensives, and events nationally and internationally.
She wholeheartedly believes that Yoga, Meditation, Stand Up Paddleboarding, & Surfing are for everybody, and is passionate about sharing these gifts, as well as her love of nature, adventure, the ocean, and the outdoors with all ages.
