Get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime, all-day adventure as you kayak through not one, but two stunning cave systems deep in Belize’s lush jungles. This unforgettable journey is perfect for adventurers aged 12 and above who are eager to explore the natural and mysterious wonders hidden underground.

• Adventure Duration: All-day excursion (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

Your adventure begins with a scenic 1.5 to 2 hour drive, to the heart of Belize’s cave country. Upon arrival, you’ll be outfitted with all necessary gear, including a lifejacket, helmet, headlamp, paddle, and your personal inflatable kayak—perfectly designed for navigating the calm underground rivers.

Once equipped, you’ll embark on an extraordinary journey through two interconnected cave systems. Paddle your way through winding passages adorned with dramatic stalactites and stalagmites, shimmering mineral formations, and ancient geological wonders. These caves hold secrets that date back millennia, offering a fascinating glimpse into Belize’s natural history.

As you immerse yourself in the serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere of the caves, you’ll also enjoy the adventure of exploring at your own pace, guided by our expert team. The extensive time spent within these caves ensures you experience their full grandeur while making memories that last a lifetime.

• This tour begins with a pick up at your accommodation.  

• We make the drive to a location on the Hummingbird Highway

• After which you'll take a 30-minute drive in an open air 4 x 4 transport Vehicle to the starting point.

• A Safety briefing is completed with participants.

• The cave kayaking tour includes a series of cave entrances and exits, with daylight “windows” at various places throughout the course.

• Enjoy a riverside rest and snack followed by a 30-minute portage with the inflatable kayaks carried by guides and participants. 

• The guides will assist as required through high canopy rainforest and into a cave opening where the trip continues downstream through the limestone cave systems, ending at the Visitor Center at Nohoch Cheʼen Archaeological Reserve.

• The Cave Kayaking tour passes through the entire wet cave system located within the Nohoch Cheʼen Archaeological Reserve; hence this is an all-day adventure.

• to avoided delays please be ready at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Intensity: Moderate  (Paddling with life Jacket, accompanied by highly trained

guides).  The carrying of the equipment may be the most intense part of this trip.

What to Bring/Wear:

• Snack Bars and (2) two liters of water

• Day Pack that can get wet (does not need to be waterproof)

Tennis shoes or Water shoes with thick sole (participants will get wet, toes and feet

must be protected)

• Swimwear with shorts and shirt (quick dry preferably)

• Insect repellent

• Extra pair of dry clothes stays in tour vehicle

• Cameras should be waterproof with hand straps or floatable attachment

Special Note: This ground-tour include round-trip transportation from accommodation to tour site, tour guide and equipment,  lunch, bottled water, park entrance fees, and sales tax.

Closed-toe shoes are required for all our outdoor activities.  Always bring a towel or change of clothing for after-water activities.
