About this trip

CALL IN YOUR NEW YEAR WITH INTENTION.

Nestled within the vast and mystical lands of Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, this Immersion will surely start your year off on the right foot.  This is a week of heART! Join Mary Mailhot and Alex Crow for a playful & intentional New Year's Eve celebration/ceremony followed by a week of deep immersion into spiritual and creative practices, awakening to the gifts of heART that you already hold within you.  Our creative lives need to be nurtured to thrive, and this immersion will be a chance to give space for your gifts to be nourished, refined, and shared. Guided morning and afternoon yogic practices will give a strong and balanced framework for your unique creative voice to shine through as we experiment & play with different artistic outlets such as writing, poetry, singing, dancing, movement improvisation, and drawing/painting. Whether you are new to creative and/or spiritual work, or you have been steeped in your practice for many years, this immersion can hold space for you to craft the perfect experience for your unique needs.

We will be experiencing New Mexico in the winter!  This is a truly stunning time of year in the desert, but we will be experiencing colder temperatures (high of 42 F and low of 17 F).  Be sure to bring warm clothes, socks, scarves, hats, and layers for movement practice.  There is a slight chance of snow/moisture during the time we will be there so please bring appropriate shoes/coat! (there is a washer and dryer in the housing unit we will all be in)

CANCELLATION POLICY:

$500 non-refundable deposit

remaining funds can be refunded anytime before November 31st, 2017.

PACKING:

1. TOOLS/MATERIALS- If you already have an on-going creative practice, please bring the supplies/instruments/tools you need to the Immersion.  We will be providing yoga mats, blankets, blocks as well as a few minimal artist supplies (paper, a few small canvases, colored pencils, markers, paints) for those of you not sure what you want to create yet!

2. WARM CLOTHING- as mentioned above, we will be experiencing the beautiful New Mexican winter!

3. CLOTHES FOR MOVEMENT- bring layers that you can move in and then shed once you get warm!

4. MEDICATIONS- please bring all the meds that you might need

5. TOILETRIES- bring all your goodies, and if you forget something you can purchase what you need at the Trading Post on the grounds.

WIFI/CELL SERVICE:

there is NO wifi where we will be sleeping, but a few places on the grounds such as the Library and the Welcome Center Lobby.  Cell service is limited in Ghost Ranch, so it would be in your best interest to let friends and family know that you will be "off the grid".

TRAVEL SUGGESTIONS:

We will be picking everyone up in a shuttle at Santa Fe Sage Inn on December 31st (time TBA), so how you get to Santa Fe is up to you.  If you fly into Albuquerque, there are shuttles that will take you to Santa Fe Sage Inn at a low cost.  HERE is some info from Ghost Ranch regarding travel and shuttle service.

If you are flying in, know that Southwest Airlines has a policy that allows you to check 2 bags for FREE.

Who’s Going

Your Organizer

AC
Alex Crow
I am a believer in the magic of the heart, and the healing power of movement. I have been teaching yoga for 5 years, and practicing for about 10 (it's hard to know when it all began). I have taught yoga in the United States, Finland, Germany, and India. I received a 200 hr. certification through the Laughing Lotus Yoga Teacher Training in San Francisco, where I teach regularly and now lead teacher trainings , and a Yoga Therapist Certification through the government of India at Yoga Vidya Gurukul. My life as a professional dancer has gifted me with extensive practical knowledge of human anatomy, which is the bedrock of my deeply felt and subtle understanding of my own body. I became a Reiki Master/Teacher in early 2016, which is the most beautiful gift of healing I could ever ask for. This deeply Divine connection is one of my greatest treasures as a human being, and a constant support as I do my work to hold space for others to heal and discover their own uniqueness.
