This morning we drive to Bandipur. The village retains its traditional feel with temples, shrines, sacred caves and preserved Newari architecture. A former strategic trading post on the route from India, Bandipur grew its wealth from trading musk pods, animals, tobaco and glassware and other goods and such wealth can been in its shopfronts, temple and historical houses. Luckly Bandipur was bypassed by the Kathmandu to Pokhara highway and thus has been able to maintain its distinctive character that harks back to a bygone era.
We visit the catherdral like interior of the Siddha Gufa cave before zig zaging up the hillside to our destination.
This afternoon you are free to roam the village to view the various temples and himalayan view vantage points.
