Full-day hike to Llano de las Flores – Sierra Norte region

Our drive will be 2-1/2 hours, a bit long, but worth it! On the drive we pass through beautiful mountain scenery to arrive at this memorable hiking experience. The hike itself runs about four hours, including time for a sack lunch at a look-out point overlooking surrounding hills and valleys. The two caves and waterfalls add a special touch to this outing. Participants should be cautioned that there are some steep segments which require using a rope banister to get up the hill. Please take this into consideration if it might represent a challenge.

Some safety and hike detail reminders:

• Water — bring and drink more than you think you need, please. Dehydration occurs 30% faster at the altitude of the Oaxaca valley than sea level. So, please be mindful of your water intake.
• Wear long pants
• Bring insect repellent and sunscreen
• Hiking poles are useful, but optional
• Bring a light rain coat
• Hiking boots are preferred
• Bring some coins with you to pay for bathroom access.
