India Venster Hike

The Platteklip Gorge hike is the most direct and popular route to the summit of Table Mountain, offering hikers a classic and rewarding ascent. Platteklip Gorge is ideal for moderately fit hikers seeking a straightforward yet iconic route to the top of Table Mountain. It’s a must-do experience for visitors wanting to conquer Cape Town’s most famous landmark on foot. Platteklip Gorge

A guided hike up the majestic <a target="_blank" href="https://capetrek.co.za/diagonal-hike/">Diagonal</a>. The hike starts on the Camps Bay side of Table Mountain. It encompasses caves, ravines and crosses three buttresses before summiting by a lovely little stream. We then walk across and down Kasteelspoort.&nbsp; Start time: 08:00Level: IntermediateRequired time: &nbsp;4-5 hours in total

Diagonal Hike

A guided hike up the meandering, yet challenging <a target="_blank" href="https://capetrek.co.za/left-face-b/">Left Face B</a>. The hike starts the at the Platteklip Gorge trailhead and meanders out left involving some spectacular gulley ascents and short scramble out to the top. We then walk along the top of the mountain and take the cable car down. Start time: 08:00Level: Intermediate to advancedRequired time: &nbsp;3-4 hours in total

What starts out as a steep ascent up a rather long ravine culminates in a truly spectacular <a target="_blank" href="https://capetrek.co.za/right-face-arrow-face-traverse/">traverse</a> beneath the face of Table Mountain. The route then joins up with India Venster. After reaching the top we take the cable car down. Start time: 08:00Level: Advanced. Must be comfortable with exposure to heights.&nbsp;Required time: &nbsp;3-4 hours in total.

Right Face Arrow Face Traverse

An interesting guided hike up Corridor Ravine and then along the top of Table Mountain to a secluded rock outcrop known as Tranquility Cracks. We then navigate our way through these mystical cracks in the rock. Start time: 08:00Level: IntermediateRequired time: &nbsp;4-5 hours in total

Tranquility Cracks

Starting at the Cecilia Forest trailhead we make our way up and along the contour path to the start. Here we head up the gorge which is under the forest canopy for most of the way. Near the top we emerge from the canopy to enjoy beautiful views Cape Town's southern suburbs. Start time: 08:00Level: IntermediateRequired time: &nbsp;3-4 hours in total

Skeleton Gorge

A beautiful sustained B Grade scramble up this prominent buttress on the Camps Bay side of Table Mountain. A good head for heights is necessary. After topping out we descend either via Kasteelspoort or Woody Ravine. Start time: 08:00Level: AdvancedRequired time: &nbsp;4-5 hours in total

Woody Buttress

A rather inconspicuous ravine that used to be one of the most popular routes up Table Mountain. Since a rockfall in the late 90's, the route was deemed too tricky to navigate, but in recent years people have started using it again. We summit at Echo Valley and then walk along the top and catch the cablecar down the mountain. Start time: 08:00Level: AdvancedRequired time: &nbsp;4-5 hours in total

Blinkwater Ravine

Take the circular trail up the famous Lions Head. Enjoy majestic views of the city and ocean the entire hike. Choose between the technical chains section or bypass this.
