Welcome to Slovakia! After arriving and settling into our accommodation, we’ll take time to unwind and get comfortable in our surroundings. There will be a relaxed welcome and introduction from the hosts, giving you a chance to meet the group, ask questions, and ease into the rhythm of the trip.
For those who feel like stretching their legs after travelling, there’s an optional, gentle walk in a nearby national park, led informally by the hosts. This easy outing offers a first taste of the area’s forests, rivers, and natural scenery, without any pressure or long distances — perfect for shaking off the journey and enjoying the fresh air.
If you’d prefer a slower start, you’re more than welcome to stay at the accommodation and enjoy the spa facilities, including a sauna and jacuzzi. Whether you choose to explore or simply relax, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace before the adventures ahead.
After breakfast, we’ll set out on a classic high-mountain hike that gradually takes us from a peaceful alpine base into the dramatic heart of the mountains. The route begins gently, following well-maintained trails through forest and open mountain scenery before opening up to wide valleys and glacial landscapes.
As we continue higher, the trail leads us past a remote mountain hut — the perfect place for a short rest — before climbing further towards a striking alpine lake, surrounded by towering peaks. From here, the final ascent takes us onto a panoramic summit, where sweeping views stretch across valleys, ridges, and distant mountain ranges.
We’ll take time at the top to soak in the scenery before returning the same way, allowing us to enjoy the changing perspectives on the descent. This is a rewarding full-day hike that combines steady climbs, classic alpine terrain, and some of the most impressive scenery in the region.
Lunch will be available at a mountain hut.
Distance: approximately 20 km
Duration: 7–8 hours at a steady pace

Today is all about adventure as we head into one of Slovakia’s most unique and exciting landscapes. This full-day hike takes us deep into a national park famous for its dramatic gorges, narrow canyons, waterfalls, and a network of ladders, wooden walkways, and footbridges that allow us to explore places you simply couldn’t reach on a normal trail.
The route combines forest paths with gorge sections, where we’ll climb ladders beside cascading waterfalls, cross streams on wooden platforms, and weave our way through towering rock walls. Between the technical sections, the trail opens up to peaceful woodland and elevated viewpoints, giving us time to catch our breath and enjoy the scenery.
This is a longer, more immersive day in the park, designed for those who want to experience Slovak Paradise at its best. While the ladders add an adventurous feel, no technical climbing experience is required — just a head for heights, good balance, and a sense of adventure. Regular breaks and a relaxed pace make the day challenging but very achievable.
By late afternoon, we’ll emerge from the gorges with a real sense of accomplishment, having experienced one of the most memorable hiking environments in Central Europe.
Lunch provided.
Distance: around 17 km
