● Elevation gain: 1,617 ft
● Difficulty: Strenuous
● Permit: No
First on our list of best hikes in Utah, Angel’s Landing is a beautiful hike that’s known for being the most popular hike in Zion National Park.
This hike begins with a series of switchbacks that travel up Zion Canyon, eventually spitting you out at the base of Angel’s Landing. Those with a fear of heights might consider stopping here. Beyond this point, the trail gets very exciting, turning into a steep and narrow path with chains to hold onto as it drops off on either side, eventually opening up to 360-degree views.
Guaranteed to kick off our week with a fabulous summit!
Don’t want to do Angel’s Landing? Other optional activities include canyoneering, rock climbing, hike Observation Point, Hidden Canyon or Emerald Pools Trail.
Overnight: Wander Camp Zion

Zion National Park is also home to another best hike in Utah: the world-famous Zion Narrows. There are dozens of beautiful swimming holes and at the narrowest point, the canyon is just a few feet wide.
We will hike the Narrows as a day-hike from the bottom-up via Riverside Walk (no permit required and you turn around whenever you want).
Other activity options: canyoneering, rock climbing, hike Observation Point, Hidden Canyon or Emerald Pools Trail
*This hike is weather dependent and subject to change.

If you want to see the best of Bryce Canyon’s dramatic landscape, this is the trail to hike. This less-traveled loop brings hikers through the most incredible scenery the park has to offer, including Fairyland Canyon, China Wall, and Tower Bridge. Hikers descend through red sandstone towers and wind around the easy-to-follow, well-signed trail before climbing back onto the ridge and looping back to the trailhead.
Get ready! This is going to be a day to remember.
After exploring the park, we’ll check into Wonder Camp Bryce Canyon just about 15 minutes outside of the park.
Overnight: Wander Camp Bryce Canyon

Did you know Lake Powell isn’t a lake at all? It’s a reservoir.
More fun facts:
● Lake Powell was created by Glen Canyon Dam which took ten years to build. Started in 1956 the project was done in 1966.
● When Lake Powell is completely full, it is 560 feet deep at Glen Canyon Dam.
● When full, the lake stretches back 186 miles up the Colorado River channel.
● Lake Powell has 96 major side canyons.
● When full Lake Powell has almost 2000 miles of shoreline, about the same as the west coast of the United States!
● Lake Powell has four major water sources: The Colorado River, The Dirty Devil River, The Escalante River, and The San Juan.
● The water in Lake Powell comes from the snow melt during spring run off and drains an area about 10,000 square miles.
● Lake Powell water levels rise from the end of April to right around July 4th. The rest of the year, for the most part, the water level falls.
● Lake Powell is 13% of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (go get some exploring done!).
● Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell were built primarily for water storage for the west. Recreation and power generation are huge additional benefits.
