About this trip

Gobustan is a home to several mud volcano sites that feature some hundreds active craters. Some of them even burn due to a natural gas!

Majority of mud volcanoes are only a few meters high, but two major still-active volcanoes - Kaniza and Toraghay - are 373 and 400+ meters high respectively.

The hike up is pleasant and full of possibilities to learn more about local fauna, geology, and even past Soviet military presence.

Craters of both: Kaniza and Toraghay are 300 meters wide natural panoramic terraces featuring stunning views!
