Lesser Rhea, Flying Steamer-Duck, Chilean Flamingo, Silvery Grebe (Patagonian), Hooded Grebe, Rufous-chested Dotterel, Two-banded Plover, Magellanic Oystercatcher, White-bellied Seedsnipe, Magellanic Penguin, Southern Giant-Petrel, Southern Fulmar, Cinereous Harrier, Black-chested Buzzard-Eagle, Short-eared Owl, Peregrine Falcon (South American, including the “pallid” form), Band-tailed Earthcreeper, Austral Canastero, Patagonian Yellow-Finch, White-bridled Finch.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Welcome to RGL. Overnight in Pto. Santa Cruz.
Arrival at Río Gallegos International Airport “Piloto Civil Norberto Fernández” (IATA: RGL) and transfer to Puerto Santa Cruz with some birding stops along the way. Check-in at the Hotel. Dinner. Night in Pto. Santa Cruz.
Day 2: Boat trip in search of the Hooded Grebe.
Embark on an exciting boat trip in search of the iconic Hooded Grebe. Lunch. In the afternoon, continue birdwatching in Puerto Santa Cruz and its surroundings. Dinner. Night in Pto. Santa Cruz.
Day 3: Second chance for the Hooded Grebe.
Return to sea for another opportunity to find the Hooded Grebe (second chance in case of bad weather the day before). Lunch. Transfer back to Rio Gallegos. Dinner. Night in Río Gallegos.
Day 4: Adventure South of RGL.
AM birding south of Río Gallegos. Lunch. Then, transfer to Loyola Harbor in search of the Magellanic Plover and other shorebirds. Dinner. Night in Río Gallegos.
Day 5: End of the tour.
Half day birding in the Río Gallegos area. Transfer to the RGL airport. Drop off. End of the tour.
