Still, the biggest and most diverse city in Texas is arguably one of the country’s most underrated dining destinations, and it’s just waiting to be explored. The Life of a Black Foodie has partnered with The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club to coordinate the ultimate foodie experience. We've selected several world class restaurants to dine at that will take you on an culinary adventure.

*Restaurants are subject to change. The restaurants we are visiting will feature a wide variety of foods from all categories. We cannot guarantee that participating chefs and restaurants will prepare dishes without common allergens, including nuts, dairy, gluten, etc. It's important to always ask the chef, server or vendor whether or not allergens or ingredients are in the dishes you are going to consume.

ABOUT THE LIFE OF BLACK FOODIE

The Life of a Black Foodie is not your typical foodie group. It's an afrocentric group of true foodies. Not people who just want to eat. But people who go outside of the norm and experience food outside of their comfort zones.
The Houston Foodie Tour does not include national or international airfare, train, and/or bus transportation to/from Houston, Texas. You are responsible for booking your own transportation to/from Houston, TX.
Hotel accommodations are not included in the price of the trip.
Our host hotel will be Aloft Houston by the Galleria.
The rates for rooms at the Aloft Houston by the Galleria are:
- $109.00 for a room with a King bed -OR-
- $109.00 for a room with two Queen beds
Rates include on-site parking. However, rates do not include tax, fees, etc...
In order to take advantage of this rate, you must book your room directly online at: Book your group rate for Houston Foodie Tour.
It's not a requirement to book your hotel room at the Aloft Houston by the Galleria in order to participate in Houston Foodie Tour.
Hotel accommodations are not included in the price of the trip.
Transportation to/from the airport and in/around Houston, Texas is not included in the price. The hotel and all the restaurants we are visiting are accessible by using ride share.
You have three ways to pay for your trip.
1) Online: You can pay online by credit card, debit card, or bank account draft. Online payments will incur a 4% service charge. This is to account for service fees.

3) In Person: You can drop off a payment at our office in Norfolk, Virginia with the Receptionist from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our office is located at 500 East Main Street, Norfolk, Virginia (BB&T building in downtown Norfolk). We are located on the 16th floor inside of the Gather co-working space. Your payment (money order/cashier’s check) must be in a seal envelope with the following information written on the front of the envelope: The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club #1667. Inside the envelope, please include a letter with your payment noting the following information: Name of the Attendee(s), Contact phone number, Contact email address, Contact mailing address. We will mail you a receipt. We do not accept cash or personal checks for payments made in person.
We DO NOT accept payment by phone.
As COVID-19 is an evolving situation, The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club staff and venues will adhere to all state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19 and will continue to update our policy as necessary. Certain destinations may require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for access to local restaurants, tourist spots and on-site amenities, such as gyms, food and beverage areas and other common areas. Additionally, face coverings may have to be worn except when eating or drinking. As state and local guidelines are updated, we will make you aware of any changes that would affect our travel plans.
By purchasing a ticket to our trips, tour, and events, you understand and acknowledge that a risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. In attending our trips, tours, and events, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and waive, release, and discharge The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and all of their affiliates, employees, contractors, staff, and associates from any and all liability for any illness or injury due to COVID-19 exposure.
All payments are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another trip/tour. However, an existing reservation can be changed to another person. Please see the "Name Change Policy" section below.
If you opt into a payment plan, please pay accordingly to the schedule. If more than two consecutive payments are missed, your reservation(s) will be cancelled and any payment(s) made will be forfeited. Always contact us if you are unable to meet payment deadlines.
Pricing is based on room occupancy (the number of people staying in a room together). If your roommate cancel or removed from the trip due to missing more than two consecutive payments, a price adjustment will incur to cover the remaining hotel cost. You are allowed to replace your roommate. Please see the "Name Change Policy" below.
No refunds are available once the trip/tour commences. In the event of a no-show by a paid attendee, no refund shall be given.
We STRONGLY recommend you consider purchasing travel insurance.
We do not offer refunds. Purchasing travel insurance is a way to protect your travel investment dollars in the event the unexpected happens.
If you need to cancel, you must notify us in writing by email (info@thepacktravelclub.com). Payments will not be refunded for cancellations.
However, if a trip is cancelled by the coordinators (The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie) due to lack of interest or unforeseen circumstances you will receive a full refund.
A name change is the cancellation of one guest and the addition of a new guest on a booking. Applicable cancellation penalties will be assessed to the original guest (owner of the booking) plus a $50 administration fee to make a name change. The new guest will be subject to pay any outstanding balance that was not paid for by the original guest.
The original guest must send written response via email to info@thepacktravelclub.com requesting a name change and provide the following information of the new guest
1) Name
2) Phone Number
3) Email Address
Only the original guest can request the name change. The ownership of the reservation will be transferred once the original guest has provide the new guest information and have paid the $50 administration fee.
Travel insurance is offered by a third party, Allianz Global Assistance, not The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club. Plans underwritten by BCS Insurance Company, Jefferson Insurance Company or Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Affiliated Companies, depending on insured's state of residence and plan type. Plan(s) may not be available to residents of all states.

Travelers insurance is not required in order to join a trip/tour.
The Client must inform The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie on the registration page of any medical conditions, food allergy, disability, and/or physical condition. Failure to notify us may result in the Client being refused certain activities during the tour.
It is absolutely vital that you are accurate with your fitness level and medical conditions for your safety.
The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life Of A Black Foodie will do their best to meet special requests including dietary or physical limitations but such requests may not always be possible depending on the tour, in which case The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie reserves the right to refuse Clients with certain conditions.
As a client, you MUST carry medical insurance. Medical facilities vary from state to state and The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie will do their best to bring you to a proper medical facility if needed, but makes no representation and gives no warranties in relation to the standard of such treatment.
The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, The Life of A Black Foodie, and its partners reserve the right to alter the itineraries due to weather, road conditions, or other circumstances. The itinerary may be changed or canceled at any moment due to the trip to assure the safety of our clients and staff. No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights or other services because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in schedules, or other similar causes. The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, The Life of A Black Foodie, and its partners do not assume responsibility for accidents or deaths that can be traced to the participants’ negligence, acts of third parties, or exterior circumstances such as weather, natural occurrences, ware, or other similar causes.
All persons wishing to make a booking have carefully read and understand the Terms and Conditions that follow. By making a booking, you accept on behalf of yourself and all those named on the booking, to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. A booking is accepted and becomes definite only when you have completed the deposit payment.
Marable Enterprises (DBA The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club) and The Life of A Black Foodie hereby give notice that we do not own or operate motorcoaches, cruise lines, banquet or catering facilities, hotels, wineries, vineyards, restaurants, or attractions. All arrangements made for transportation, accommodations, cruises, sightseeing, attractions, meals, wine tastings etc., are made by us solely as AGENTS. We shall not be liable for any injury, death, accident, loss, damage, delay, or irregularity which may occur either by reason of defect in any vehicle or through the acts of default of any person or company engaged in transporting the passengers or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour.
The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie will not be responsible for the theft, loss, or damage of baggage and personal property.
The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie make no guarantees or warranties for any help, advice, and/or recommendations given before, during, or after the tour.
By participating in the tour, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, The Life of A Black Foodie, and its affiliates and representatives.
You release The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, The Life of A Black Foodie, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video, and/or sound recordings.
By participating in the tour, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie or the person or entity designated to do so by The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and The Life of A Black Foodie.

JŪN - Price includes a family style, comprehensive tasting of JŪN entire dinner menu. Two drinks (non-alcoholic/alcoholic) are included in the price.
Davis St at Hermann Park - Price includes a family style dinner experience of 10 items (combination of entrees, sides, deserts). Alcoholic drinks are not included in the price. You are responsible for any alcoholic drinks that you purchase.

We'll kick off our first day in Houston by having dinner at Jūn. A restaurant by Chef Evelyn Garcia and Chef Henry Lu. Explores the story of both chefs upbringing in a diverse household; surrounded by different people, food and culture. Garcia growing up in Houston Texas and Lu growing up in the Bronx NY, they want to share their life experiences through the food at Jūn. Jūn is a celebration of our differences and funky flavors coming together through the lens of “New Asian American” food.
