Discover one of the most impressive natural destinations in the Cordillera Blanca with our tour to the Pastoruri Glacier from Huaraz. During this experience, we will traverse high-Andean landscapes, see the famous Puya raimondii, admire natural mineral springs, and visit ancient rock art sites before arriving at the majestic Pastoruri Glacier.
9:00 a.m. – We begin our journey from the city of Huaraz, heading toward the Pastoruri Glacier and traveling through the stunning landscapes of the Cordillera Blanca.
We will make a brief stop in Ticapampa, where you can have breakfast (at your own expense) and try coca tea—a traditional beverage commonly consumed in high-altitude regions.
Continue to the Pumapampa Carbonated Springs, a natural attraction known for the mineral-rich, naturally carbonated water that bubbles up from underground.
We will visit the habitat of the impressive Puya raimondii, one of the largest and most iconic plants of the Andes. This species can reach several meters in height and blooms only once during its lifetime.
Our next stop is Pumashimi Lagoon, renowned for its colorful waters that shift in hue depending on the angle of the sunlight.
We will explore an area featuring preserved ancient rock paintings.
We arrive at the starting point for the hike to the Pastoruri Glacier. The hike takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on each visitor's pace and trail conditions.
We will have time to admire the Pastoruri Glacier, take photos, and enjoy the high-mountain scenery before beginning our return journey.
After completing our visit, we will head back to Huaraz, arriving at approximately 6:30 PM.
