Fiz a trilha de Salkantay e foi realmente incrível. O guia, Raul, é um cara espetacular. Muito gentil, atenciosos e responsável culturalmente. A acomodação e refeições foram ótimas. Recomendo muito.

The trip was great as well as our tour guide Ruben.

The food was delicious (although most of the time a bit cold) and the cooks /staff in general was super sweet. They gave us lots of tea to stay warm.

The route itself is beautiful and the accommodations were quite nice.

Would recommend to book the tour via KB Adventure as we had a great time with them without any hustle or problems

Walter was the best guide I have ever. He made the whole experience so much better. I highly recommend KB Adventures by how everything is organized, from the food to the housing. Had an amazing experience!

We did the 5-day Salkantay Trek with our amazing guide Willy. It was a wonderful trip: Beautiful diverse landscapes, good food, a fun group and an amazing, very knowledgeable guide. We can definitely recommend doing this tour! 

The view including Huayna Pichu in the background (ie., the "iconic" Machu Picchu photo) was far more fantastic than the view from Huayna Pichu.  Pretty quick 50-minute hike up to get another angle of the Incan ruins.  I am glad I did it, but I was hoping for a bigger "wow" effect.  BTW, did it on my own with KB Travel arranging the logistics in their usual perfect manner.

What an absolutely wonderful adventure!! KB Travel organized a 5-day/4-night trek across the Salkantay Pass with the grand finale at Machu Picchu. The setting of mountains, glaciers, through rain forests was stunning. Challenging 20+km days were followed by easier 10+km days, with enough time for R&R at hot springs and happy hour at local watering holes. For those who chose to avoid the most strenuous portions, horseback riding and car transportation was made available. The organization of the 5-day journey was meticulous and from my perspective it went flawlessly well. Perfect logistics moving the cooks/food/supplies, transporting our nighttime dufflebag with sleeping bags from campsite to campsite. KB made a concerted effort to tailor the trips to our individual requirements (e.g. the horseback and cars, but also diet restrictions, and pickup dropoffs that differed from the overall group). A particular noteworthy highlight for our knowledgeable, engaging, and fun guides Walter and Yanin. Thank you guys!!

We had an amazing time with JP on the Salkantay trek! He explained so much about the nature, culture, and history along the way -> always with humor, patience, and a great attitude. Everything was really well organized: the food was delicious, the accommodations were comfortable, and the whole experience went smoothly. Huge thanks to JP and the entire team for an unforgettable adventure!

Amazing experience. Get Veronica as your guide. She is so knowledgeable and stays on top of everything and it makes such a difference. We hiked for 4-5 days and had food cooked for us as we went. It was delicious! I would do it all over again! 

I had a great guide (JP).  He was very patient with all of  us and had a great attitude. I would recommend him to anyone that's doing this trek.

Transportation was really bad. They cramped you in vans that don't fit everyone. The food was cold everyday, but it was good in taste. 

We made the Choquequirao trek with guide Ronald of KB adventures in a group of 4 and it was awesome! We greatly enjoyed the quiet paths, the beautiful ruins that we had almost to ourselfs and the trekking itself. Everything was well arranged ans communicated with us. Ronald was e very relaxed but alert and friendly guide. He had great tips, was alert for animals (Condor!), plants etc and had a lot to tell us about the ruïns and the incas. The group was great company, would greatly recommend! Physically hard, but awesome!! Completely different experienxe from Machu Picchu.

CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK 4 DAYS

Fomos bem acolhidos desde o início, grupo de viajantes fantásticos, nossa guia Maritza sempre gentil, disponível e preocupada. Dentro da complexidade que essa vivência já propõe, tudo estava dentro do planejado. 

We did the 5-day Salkantay trek with Raul as our guide. He made this experience even more special, whenever anyone needed something he was there to help. In general it was great vibes within the group and Raul really wanted us to have a great experience and did his best to make sure that was also the case. So 5 stars to Raul, but:
My only criticism goes to the company KB Adventures. There were so many things that weren't clear and they didn't make a big effort to solve some of the problems. Even when Raul couldn't really do anything because it wasn't in his hands he tried to resolve everything which me and my friends always appreciated a lot. 
In general I think that if you book the trip more in advance, everything works out just fine and there won't be any complications.

A trilha é incrível e a experiência vale muito a pena! A guia Verónica foi sensacional, super atenciosa, cuidadosa e sempre preocupada com todos — realmente fez toda a diferença na viagem.
A alimentação foi boa, com muito cuidado às restrições (vegetariano, vegano, sem glúten e até meu pedido sem coentro foi atendido).

Mas os alojamentos e banheiros são muito precários. O banho pago à parte foi decepcionante: banheiro aberto, cheio de furos, sem privacidade muito sujo e sem tampa no vaso. No segundo acampamento, minha cama estava quebrada e acabei deslocando o ombro, precisando trocar de barraca. Falta manutenção, cuidado nos detalhes e aprimoramento dos acampamentos para ser uma experiência condizente a trilha.

Deixo 3 estrelas pela trilha e pela guia incrível, mas com estrutura que precisa de atenção urgente.


I recently completed the 5-day Salkantay Trek with KB Adventures, and it was honestly one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. The landscape alone is breathtaking — every day brought something new, and even during the toughest sections of the hike, the views made it all worth it.

What made the trip even better was the group itself. We were all around the same age, with a similar mindset, which created a great atmosphere and a strong sense of connection. Our guide added to that with his humor and easygoing energy — it felt like traveling with friends rather than strangers.

If I had to point out one thing that could be improved, it would be the food portions. The meals tasted great, but the quantities sometimes felt a bit small, especially after long days of hiking.

Overall, though, it was a fantastic experience that I’d absolutely recommend — not just for the stunning scenery, but also for the spirit of adventure and community that came with it.

My husband and I did the 5D4N Salkantay trek with KB Adventure in Sep 2025. And we had a really amazing experience, mostly also because of the great group of fellow hikers and certainly the beautiful nature! 

Our guides Vidal and Alfredo were great, gave us lots of information about the region, Inca and current Peruvian culture, socioeconomic situation, etc. 

We were quite a large group of 19 people (only 7 of these for 5 days) and quite diverse in terms of hiking speed, but this could be fully accommodated for (also with options to do part of the hike by horse or take a bus, if needed). 

Accommodations were good, increasing in terms of quality from day to day, and we really liked the third day with some relaxation time at the hot springs. The second and fourth day were honestly really hard, as they were with around 24 km each quite long and also included quite some up and down.

Food was plenty but (as often in Peru) a bit bland sometimes and not that creative for vegetarians.

Something to keep in mind is that there a couple of things not included (water, WiFi, hot showers, etc) - but this is known beforehand and would not be a reason for me to go with another company which might be three times the price.

What I did not like: 
The sleeping bag I rented was not good anymore (clumpy after too many times washed) and did not keep me warm on the first and second night - so I needed to pay for an extra blanket. 
Also, KB Adventure needs to look for other restaurants on the fourth day, both for lunch and dinner. Our whole group got food poisoning (looking at the Google ratings of those restaurants, also not the first time this happened), which is per se not good but also was really bad when visiting Machu Picchu on the fifth day.

SALKANTAY 5D

Absolutely amazing experience! Our tour guide Renee made us feel well supported and taken care of. Overall, great energy, comfortable accommodations, and delicious home cooked meals. I would recommend KB for anyone looking to do the Salkantay trek! 

Just finished the 5-day Salkantay trek with KB and it was a one of the best experiences of my life. The whole journey was amazing, but the real highlight was our guide, Walter. He is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met….so caring, knowledgeable, and fun. You can feel his passion for the trek and for helping people enjoy every step of it. I’ll never forget this experience, and I’m so grateful to Walter for making it so special.

Our tourguide Alfredo was perfect, he was really nice and supporting. The food met our expectations but there was no water at the meals, only tea. 
Our experience was stressful because of the bad organization by KB. We had to plan a lot by ourselves and the whole trip was chaotic. Sadly it also affected the atmosphere in the groups, because everyone had some kind of problem with KB. All in all I would definetely recommend to do the Trip but with another agency, where you can fully concentrate on enjoying your hike.

Our friend group had a wonderful time during the salkantay trek with kb adventures, but especially big thanks to Ruben and Yanina who were great guides on this trip. We learned a lot about the history of the places we visited and they were also great to just talk and make jokes with.

Decepcionante,  somente uma guia para 16 pessoas; Solicitei para falar em espanhol para melhor compreender, so foi falar no ultimo dia pq os integrantes da europa ficaram em outro acampamento; Em vez de motivar os participantes a enfrentarem os trechos mais técnicos e desafiadores da trilha, o guia recomendou consistentemente a contratação de cavalos para contornar essas seções. Isso não apenas minou a confiança dos participantes, mas também privou-os de partes significativas da experiência de trekking; Pediram para integrante pcd ir na frente sem guia para nao atrasar o grupo, detalhe deu shit. No site recomendam  retorno de trem máximo ate 14h50, no dia me entregaram passagem para 16h40.  Decepção total.

Had an amazing time on this trip as a solo female traveller! Great group, guide, chefs, and staff. 

Un tour de mediana exigencia porque es de poca caminata pero a mucho msm, pero vale la pena llegar y ver la hermosura de esos colores increibles. Es poco conocida por lo que hay muy poca gente. Maravilloso para disfrutar con tiempo y sin locura del lugar y sacar buenas fotos! Muy recomendable!

PALCOYO RAINBOW MOUNTAIN DAY HIKE

La Laguna Humantay es una hermosura. Yo hice un tramo a caballo porque no me sentía bien pero quería llegar si o si. Me dio lás tima no poder hacer los 3.5 kms caminando pero era mi unica opción. Los guías unos cracs! Muy recomendable!

El Valle Sagrado es muy hermoso y las explicaciones de los guias son imprescindibles para apreciar la inmensidad de la cultura Inca. Hicimos el Circuito 2 de Machu Picchu de 2 horas y es muy completo. Nuestro guia lo dio todo! Muy recomendable!

SACRED VALLEY TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU 2 DAYS

El ascenso a la cima de la Huayna Picchu es hermoso y muy exigente. Muy recomendable!!

O cavalo só está disponível no trecho do 2 segundo dia podendo chegar a 200 dolares e detalhe tem trecho q vc tem q ir a pé mesmo pagando o cavalo

A estrutura é precária 
Eles abandonam as pessoas durante a trilha deixando a própria sorte

The Kb Adventures team was very attentive, from after-sales service to the entire trip. The day before, we were given all the information we needed, especially since there was a train blockage until the day before. On the day of, a car was sent to pick us up at our hotel at 3:30 a.m. to catch the bus that would take us to the train station (an IncaRail bus, which is very good, by the way). In Aguas Calientes, another member of the team welcomed us and guided us, after some time exploring the city, to the bus that would take us up to Machu Picchu. Our guide, Elias, was very knowledgeable about the region and its history and stayed with us for over three hours, even helping with photography. He then put us back on the bus to Aguas Calientes. There, another guide (Norma) took us back to the train. The place is simply incredible, and the experience was fantastic. Many thanks to the team.

Minha experiência com a KB adventures foi bastante decepcionante. Escolhi a empresa baseada nas avaliações do Google e TripAdvisor e ao terminar a trilha vi um alerta no TripAdvisor de que há suspeita de que a empresa esteja fraudando ou influenciando as avaliações. Inclusive a empresa me ofereceu uma camiseta ao final da trilha se fizesse uma avaliação na hora. 
A empresa informou antes da trilha que teríamos 2 guias, um caminhando no começo do grupo e outro ao final. Houve apenas 1 guia durante toda a trilha, para um grupo de 14 pessoas. O guia caminhava em uma velocidade maior que a do grupo. Em quase toda a trilha, fiz o caminho sem o guia. Por vezes não conseguia ver nenhuma pessoa do grupo. O guia dava algumas orientações vagas para que seguíssemos o caminho sozinhos. No último dia ele foi de ônibus para MachuPicchu enquanto todo o grupo seguia a pé. No quarto dia de caminhada, iniciamos a trilha ainda no escuro, por um atalho mal demarcado - o guia informou que havia risco de nos perdermos, e ainda assim manteve a caminhada mais rápida do que o ritmo do grupo. 
A empresa informava no site que forneceria 2 litros de água potável por dia por pessoa, mas no local fomos informados de que teríamos que comprar água mineral todos os dias nos acampamentosAlugamos um saco de dormir que a empresa informou que seria para -5o C. Estava fazendo próximo de 3o C e o saco de dormir não era suficiente, sendo necessário que alugássemos cobertores todas as noites. Havia um limite de peso para a empresa levar para cada pessoa de 6kg. Pesei minha bolsa no hotel e estava com 5,5kg - na balança deles o resultado foi 7kg, o que me fez pagar pelo excesso de peso. 

Absolutely great trip, great group. And: Astonishing organization by KB Adventures. They made absolutely everything work. The food was very good. Accommodation simple but clean at the first two places, then amazing at the third one. Good guides, good communication. We will never forget. 

The guide didn't even mentioned KB adventure - it seemed like KB only sold the tour and different agencies put everybody together for the tour. The van was unconfortable. The guide spent lots of time in shops - probably they receive some commission for that.

SACRED VALLEY VIP OF THE INCAS FULL DAY

An incredible journey.  As everyone says, allow time to acclimate in Cusco.  Bus ride will be sketchy, but the drivers get you there.  The tour guides are amazing and are local and can share insight to much of what is around you.  The food was always well prepared and cooked as appropriate to keep everyone healthy.  Do make sure to get your Macchu Pichu tickets ahead of time.  We had a couple who missed - after completing the hike!  Also, your first hike will be a bit of a test.  Take your time, and expect to hit the altitude ceiling a few times up... and make sure to bring extra soles in case a horse is needed.  2-3 out of our 15 opted for a horse ride after day 1.  Then, all were okay (day 3).  

The views are just amazing.  From the snow capped mountains, elevated lake, ravines, to the glaciers, to...  although the best part was walking and talking as the group was full (15) and everyone was from various points around the world.  We went during the dry season (late July/Aug), saw few bugs, but did get a light rain one day.  Expect to go to bed early (tired) and wake up very early every morning.  Poles are very helpful on most days.  We had them provide the sleeping bags, which worked well.  Also, used a 2-stage water filter (lifestraw thermos) which was very, very helpful to keep hydrated on all of our hikes and in town.  

Macchu Pichu is epic, but the hike pulled everything together.  I'm not a fan of the oversized Incan steps (designed for runners), and while I came across those engineering feats on other hikes, the Salkantey trail is not endless Incan steps, and I found much easier to hike the steps, although we traverse some significant distances and went over "Incan flat," or constantly changing inclines.  
Highly recommend.

This one is different.  You are descending a mile - over 1500 meters, crossing a river and then climbing back up a mile.  All while criss-crossing to change elevation.  Lower elevation means warmer.  A dry-wick long sleeve and removable breathable jacket (or poncho) might work best.  You might start cold, but you will sweat.

The views are just amazing.  We went during the dry season (late July/Aug), saw few bugs, until the last day.  You do need to apply the insect spray.  These were small, barely noticeable, but left red dots on everyone where not applied.  Expect to go to bed early (tired) and wake up very early every morning.  Poles are not optional.  We had them provide the sleeping bags, which worked well.  Also, used a 2-stage water filter (lifestraw thermos) which was very, very helpful to keep hydrated on all of our hikes, including pulling water from waterfalls.  

Macchu Pichu is epic, but Choququirao is a very special hidden location with no one (few others) there.  Every mountain looks different.  We saw condors.  The LLama terrace was "wow."  So many areas to see and explore.  It is very big, and much is undiscovered.  In time, this may become touristy, so best to go before it does.  It was our third trek (after Saukantey and 7-colors), and we were in really good shape for the hike.  A great second hike, with nice stops, and non-stop amazing views.

Very disappointing experience – would not recommend

We booked a trekking tour through this agency and, unfortunately, encountered multiple problems from start to finish.

The sleeping bag was only provided after the first day of trekking, despite being promised beforehand. We were told it would weigh 2 kg, but it didn’t. Since we were already at the first camp, there was nothing we could do. On that same day, they suddenly enforced extra charges for luggage that was “too heavy.” Our bags initially weighed 6.5 kg each, but after shifting a few items, they were somehow recorded as 6 kg and 8 kg, triggering extra payment.

Extra charges for everything: Warm water and Wi-Fi cost extra, yet the “warm” water wasn’t actually warm.

Hotel booking. We had booked two nights at a hotel through them to arrange ticket collection. After the first night, we were told to leave because the agency had only booked one night. They refused to help, saying it was our problem. They claimed the hotel was full and we were on our own . When I checked with the hotel myself, there were rooms available – and cheaper than what the agency offered.

Overpriced and incorrect train tickets: The train tickets they arranged were much more expensive than the original prices, and were full of errors – wrong passport number, wrong date of birth, etc.

Pushy sales stops: The trek included detours to places like a coffee farm, clearly designed for them to sell products directly to the group.

Overall, this was one of the most disappointing travel experiences we’ve had. If you want to do a trek:

Book everything yourself if you want to keep costs low, or pay more for a reputable company that will actually handle everything properly.

Amazing trip with KB Adventures. Couldn’t recommend enough. Walter our tour guild made the trip, great for information and always has a laugh.
