From the moment I signed up for the Swim with Sperm whales in Dominica, I had a wide array of emotions. I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be one of the most awe-inspiring experiences of my life. Swimming alongside these beautiful whales was an absolute dream come true. The sheer beauty of the underwater world and the gracefulness of the whales took my breath away. The feeling of being in their presence was truly humbling and surreal. The crew was knowledgeable and passionate Caine and the crew on the boat played a crucial role in ensuring a successful and memorable swim with whales experience. They possess extensive knowledge about the behavior and patterns of the whales. They understand the best locations and times to spot these magnificent creatures. With their expertise, they can navigate the waters effectively, increasing the chances of encountering whales. They follow guidelines and regulations to ensure minimal disturbance to these whales. I was very nervous about the experience I don’t have a lot of experience in the ocean and Caine Delaney accompanied us throughout the swims and took the time to make sure we were comfortable in the water. His patience and expertise and enthusiasm added an extra layer of excitement and made me feel safe in the water. Their respect for the whales' natural habitat and commitment to responsible practices were evident throughout the entire experience. One particular moment that stands out in my memory is when one of the whales let us swim right beside it for about, what seemed 5 min. It was an encounter I will cherish forever. This whale allowed us to swim with it in their world. It was an experiences that left me in complete awe. The professionalism of Just the Wild expeditions was remarkable. They were well-organized and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their exceptional customer service in general and making sure we were comfortable in and out of the water truly made a difference. The hotel was were very clean and comfortable. The food was amazing. The staff at the hotel accommodated us with whatever we needed. Caine Delaney /Just the Wild has an incredible relationships with the local community and the people he works with on the island of Dominica. Overall, I cannot express enough how satisfied I am with this vacation. It far exceeded my expectations and left me with lifelong memories. This trip was one of the best in my life. Our guide Caine is a marine biologist who knows the whales like they are family. As an older person, I was greatly helped when he would take my hand and lead me in the water to a good view. Our boat crew was amazing at locating whales and dropping small groups close by, so we could see and photograph. The accommodations at “The Chanps” were lovely and the hotel staff very nice and helpful. Great breakfasts, cooked to order. Advice: Bring super good equipment that you are comfortable with (my fins were a bit on the short side) and follow the directions Caine sends out ahead of time. Remember, this is the Caribbean, where people go out of their way to be NICE, so leave your stuff behind and have fun. Finding whales is not guaranteed, so be happy if you get to be with some in the water…awesome.!

Fabulous! This was an incredible trip, well organised but mostly with amazing people. Aimee as a guide is incredible and as a person even more incredible. Desmond is the best whale watching skipper I have seen. And the people like me on this trip were amazing, which shows that it is an amazing community in Just the Wild.

Caine is such a phenomenal person, and amazing photographer. Choosing to go on one of his trips was a no brainer for me. Ironically, he wasn’t even guiding, and I was introduced the what must be the kindest and most amazing person, Ocean Aimee, one of his guides. Not only did she do a fantastic job organizing the trip, keeping us supported, but she also is an award winning photographer! How amazing is that to have. Couple all this with a completely unique, one of a kind experience in the little known country of Timor-leste and phenomenal blue whales and that alone would have been 11/10 on the trip. To add even more to all that, I was blessed with the best group one could hope for, an amazing on site guide captaining, and we saw 8 different cetaceans in 7 days! While 7 days might sound like a lot, trust me, everyday was full and left me wanting more drops. Blue whales. Sperm whales. Melon headed. The list goes on. What an adventure. What an experience! *important to note we had an amazing experience and saw a lot of things incredibly, and we all were of the same idea and understanding that the ocean doesn’t owe us anything and no interaction is promised. I think living in this perspective will help make sure you have the best time!

I can’t even describe in words how amazing this trip was! Magical animal encounters (not a given or a guarantee- we were just incredibly lucky), perfectly harmonising travel group (not a given neither), phenomenal captain (Des), fantastic guide & photographer (Aimee), great food, safe and clean accommodation. I couldn’t have wished for more! Absolutely magical! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! <3 PS: only one little mini-improvement I would suggest: please create a chill-out zone with couches, bean bags etc in front of Aquatica office/ dive centre ;)
