“If I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive.” ― Audre Lorde

Why join this workshop?

-  Challenge self-imposed personal narratives and pre-existing notions
-  Acquire fresh perspectives

-  Feel empowered having discovered new information about yourself
-  Refresh and recalibrate your core values
-  Increase the positive impact you could have in the world

About this workshop.

A playful self-enquiry workshop for those wanting to explore their relationship with femininity, sex, and self-image. Led by a team of mentors and coaches, we'll start to challenge pre-conceived ideas of what it means to be a ‘Queer Womxn’ in 2021 and explore ways to nurture our feminine sensitivity through compassionate self-inquiry. We’ll be introducing new teachings and tools for bringing about more awareness and intimacy when engaging with oneself and others.

Questions we'll be looking at:

What does it mean to be a ‘Queer Womxn’ in today’s society? How does it feel to inhabit this female body?  What are the societal norms and pressures that surround femininity, and how can we face these challenges? Do I give myself permission to be and create who I am? Who would I be if there were no rules? What could my relationship with myself look and feel like? For those perhaps wanting to invite change into their daily lives, organisations, and communities, how can we create more space for vulnerability, intimacy and self-love?

We want you to feel empowered with the new information you’re going to uncover and leave with actionable steps towards taking more control of your own life.

You will take part in various creative and interactive workshops, and we’ll be encouraging you to use your mind and body to discover brand new perspectives about yourself.

The tools we’ll use:

We'll be incorporating tried and tested practices such as journaling, group sharing, self-enquiry, breath-work and meditation. These will be interspersed with key teachings and coaching techniques.

Please note:

This workshop is open to anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ but we will be focusing on embodying our femininity through the perspective and experiences of Queer Womxn. We'd like to reassure and reaffirm to anyone who is Trans or Non-Binary that you are welcome and that this space is yours too.

About our approach.

We offer a safe space to get curious, open up and discuss with others, aspects of your life you’re finding challenging or simply want to improve. Naturally it is a completely confidential space, where individuals can openly share their feelings and thoughts with the option of anonymity.

Your safety comes first.

Your safety is our main priority. For this reason, we may need to ask participants for some personal medical information, before we can confirm your place on the workshop. These are standard questions, there to protect your safety and everyone else involved. This information will only be shared on a need to know basis and will be GDPR compliant. We will also be undertaking other necessary safety measures, during and post-retreat.

We would highly recommend individuals with concerns relating to pre-existing mental health conditions, substance misuse and related disorders to seek immediate professional help.

I didn't know what to expect at first, but I was *blown away* by what they had to offer. I honestly wish I had paid more for it. Such an amazing virtual retreat. It was so wonderful to connect with other queer women around the UK, Europe, and even Canada. This workshop is led by authentic and honest lgbtqi+ leaders in the wellness industry who help you to take some time for yourself and get the support you need to be able to feel safe connecting with like-minded people and reflecting on your own identity. And there's no judgment. That's a hard thing to come by these days. If you're a company, I highly recommend you do this for your lgbtqi+ employees, because that really demonstrates your support and shows you care about their well-being. If you're an individual who's interested in signing up, do it, and contact Michael or Maylis if you have any questions, because they're both very warm people. Honestly, the women who led this workshop (and Michael) are some of the loveliest people in wellness you'll ever meet. They really care about giving back to *all* members within the community, and they care about giving you a moment for yourself to heal. This experience has really shown me the magic that happens when people get the support they need to be themselves, to be seen, and to explore their various intersecting identities.

Amazing. Helped me rediscover parts of my identity I have historically repressed. The full weekend was an amazing chance to hear others stories, learn and connect in a truly authentic way. The learnings and tools given were phenomenal.

It was delivered by the facilitator Phil Sanger with the perfect pace, I could follow what was being taught and also felt I could reflect during the session. It had the right balance of methods for viewing progressive thought, attention on the physical body, philosophical theory & science, self-analysis & participant feedback. It was great to pin point one clear strategy to take away and practice. I was introduced to new ideas & felt good leaving the session.

An amazing workshop that gave space for reflection and connecting to courage! The speakers' sharing from experience was so inspiring and created a sense of belonging. I found the tools provided for self-coaching and embodiment so useful and practical for all queers.

I took part in a weekend Who Am I? retreat and highly recommend it. The group size is intimate so never feels too daunting and you're able to build connections well. Maylis was a fantastic organiser - felt there was great communication from pre-booking right through to afterwards. Michael is a fantastic host, he leads the retreat with from a place of kindness, vulnerability and openness I find really commendable. Whether you're new to self exploration or a seasoned pro - I think this is worth doing.

I attended the Who Am I retreat in early June to explore my identify as a gay man. I found the retreat a life-enriching experience. The communication before the retreat was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the pre-retreat call. It was an intense two days - and virtual because of lockdown - but the conversations were enriching and inspiring and I thought that the structure and content was very well designed. Recommended!
