'I See You, I See Me' is a playful self-enquiry workshop for those wanting to explore their relationship with sex, masculinity and self-image. We'll start to challenge pre-conceived ideas of what it means to be a 'queer man' today.
"Masculinity is a performance for me. My gender is a way to play. My expression gives me a stage to (re)centre myself, (re)define and (re)claim what masculinity means to me.” - Sabah Choudrey

A playful self-enquiry workshop for those wanting to explore their relationship with sex, masculinity and self-image. Led by a team of mentors and coaches, we'll start to challenge pre-conceived ideas of what it means to be a 'queer man' in 2021. We’ll be introducing new teachings and tools for bringing about more awareness, compassion and intimacy when engaging with oneself and others.
Questions we'll be looking at:
What does it mean to be a queer man in today’s society? What expectations do men put on themselves? What are the societal structures and pressures that surround masculinity, and how can we combat the challenges that we face? For those wanting to create change in their daily lives, organisations, and communities, how can we create more space for vulnerability, intimacy and self-love?
We want you to feel empowered with the new information you’re going to uncover and leave with actionable steps towards taking more control of your own life.
You will take part in various creative and interactive workshops, and we’ll be encouraging you to use your mind and body to discover brand new perspectives about yourself.
We'll be incorporating tried and tested practices such as journaling, group sharing, self-enquiry, breath-work and meditation. These will be interspersed with key teachings and coaching techniques.
Please note:
This workshop is open to anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ but we will be focusing on embodying our masculinity through the perspective and experiences of those who identify as 'queer men'. We'd like to reassure and reaffirm to anyone who is Trans or Non-Binary that you are definitely welcome and that this space is yours too.
We offer a safe space to get curious, open up and discuss with others, aspects of your life you’re finding challenging or simply want to improve. Naturally it is a completely confidential space, where individuals can openly share their feelings and thoughts with the option of anonymity.
Your safety comes first.
Your safety is our main priority. For this reason, we may need to ask participants for some personal medical information, before we can confirm your place on the workshop. These are standard questions, there to protect your safety and everyone else involved. This information will only be shared on a need to know basis and will be GDPR compliant. We will also be undertaking other necessary safety measures, during and post-retreat.
We would highly recommend individuals with concerns relating to pre-existing mental health conditions, substance misuse and related disorders to seek immediate professional help.
